I’ve been browsing BHLDN for accessories and rehearsal/engagement shoot dresses. I have a soft spot for rosettes and bows, which is how I came to shortlist these three dresses. Any bees who have bought them before? Which do you prefer? My initial favourite was the one-shoulder dress with cascading bows. It also happens to be the most expensive, haha. For those familiar with shopping on BHLDN, do items usually get further reduced?
FYI this is me in a similar silhouette – I am 5’4, hourglass, 32D and prefer dresses that accentuate my waist (don’t mind the post-brunch food coma inability to stand up straight):
#1 – Afternoon Social dress by Essere ($500 from $1000)
#2 – Ribboned Garland dress by Hitherto ($220 from $350)
#3 – Saturnalia dress by Essere ($180 from $350)

@peonyinparis: I’d love to see the 2nd one on you! #3 is beautiful too.

50% off is a big discount! If you love the one with the cascading bows, I would order it while they still have your size. Can you return sale dresses if you don’t like it?

I just read that this is for a rehearsal or engagement shoot dress. In that case, I would get one of the less expensive ones or try to find one on ebay. I have seen quite a few of their dresses on there recently.

@minniemluv: I have it in mind for rehearsal/engagement shoot, but I may also wear it for a separate reception (we are doing a Destination Wedding plus overseas receptions). Haha like how I justify purchases? 😛
50% is a good discount, but I am quizzical as to why a relatively-simple tea-length dress could $1000 in the first place!
ETA – returns would be a hassle as I’m outside the US, unfortunately!

I’d be careful of number 1 – it’s a bit longer and that mid-calf length can be hard to pull off. I voted #3 because i love the sheer sleeves, but #1 is a close second.

@peonyinparis: I would definitely check ebay. I just did a quick search and there are some really cute dresses for a steal.

I like both the second and the third, but I LOVE the second one!

@KatieColorado: I know, the length on #1 is super awkward! It will probably turn out to be a true tea length on me, given I’m only 5’4. Otherwise I was thinking of getting it snipped to knee-length.
Wow, Saturnalia is really coming out on top! Guess not everybody is as batty over bows as I am. 😉

@peonyinparis: I like the third dress best. It’s very simple, but I think that could actually work in your favor for a rehearsal dress/engagement photo shoot because you could add some great accessories. I also think it looks most like something that could be worn again, which is always a plus in my book!

I love #1 but not the price. I think #3 would be great and you could wear it for something later on.

I think the first dress is the most beautiful and unique.
