I have big knuckles but smaller fingers. I’ve noticed most pictures I’ve come across on weddingbee show smaller knuckles compared to where the ring sits. My knuckle is about a 7, but my finger where the ring sits is no bigger than 6.5…am I odd? Do you have a picture to share? Show me your big knuckles 🙂

I have that problem. Bottom of my finger is a loose 4.5 but the knuckle is a tight 4.5, really a proper 5. The nice part is that it allows me to wear a size that is loose without worrying about it flying off my knuckle cause it’s bigger (and I hate tight rings). This pic KINDA shows it but its more noticeable in person. My right hand is worse. Makes it hard to figure out what sizes I need though. You’re not odd. I’m not the 1st person I’ve known to be that way either. 🙂

I don’t have a picture, but I definitely have that issue. I need a 5 to get over my knuckle, but I’ve lost weight and I’m about a 4.5 now. 🙁 Mine are bony too, because I’m older (well, mid 30’s anyway LOL).

Yep. My ring is sized at a 6 and it HURTS to take my ring on and off, but luckily I don’t need to often. The part of my finger where the ring sits is probably a 5.5 but it doesn’t really spin around luckily. I hate my big knuckles 🙁

No picture (yet), but I also have bigger knuckles. It’s tough to get the ring off sometimes, but I’m glad that my ring can’t slide off my finger! It feels safer 🙂

My lower ring size is a 5 – 5.5 (depending on the weather/my body temperature). A 5.5-5.75 can get over my knuckle if I pull on it though it is not comfortable (again depending on the weather/body temp), but I actually wear rings that are 6.25-6.5 and I can slide them off pretty easily if I pull on them, but when I shake my hand they are fine and are not going anywhere (unless my hands are wet). I actually despise tight rings or rings that feel tight going over my knucke, and I also like to stack them and that tightens them up a bit.
I should add I also get ring claustrophobia. I once had to have my rings cut off as I hurt my hand and had swelling. So, if I ever feel my rings are “tight” or hard to get over my knuckle I get nervous!
Not the best picture to show the difference between my knuckle and lower finger as it was a hot day so my lower finger was more swollen but here is just my e-ring and wedding band, both 6.25 on a 5.5ish lower finger (since it was hotter I would have been at the higher end of my size!):
On colder days/in winter, or when my hands are wet, my two rings alone spin around like CRAZY. They also fit more like bracelets on my lower finger and will slide down to sit at an angle where they catch in the webbing of my fingers (which I like). When cold they can very easily slide off my finger…but again when I stack them with another band or two they are fine.
My other non-ring fingers (middle/index) are way more disproportionate from knuckle to lower finger and even to my ring fingers. Like my knuckles are closer to a 8-9 and my lower portion below my knuckle is a 6.5-7.
I do not mind having larger knuckles, I hate ring muffin top and tight rings, and having bigger knuckles means I can wear my rings looser and more like bracelets than tight rings!

Yup, I have the large knuckle/ thin finger combination. Whatever, it’s how it is! hehe. An advantage, as another bee mentioned, is that I will never lose my ring as it goes over tighly on my knuckle. My e ring is loose tho and spins around. But it’s quite comfortable otherwise. I never take it off because it hurts the skin on my knuckle if I remove it over and over. Here are my funny hands (although people often compliment me on my slender fingers, I find them funny!)

@morganjenkstamwood: Ok, now I feel really old! lol (I’m 42!)
@Mrs. Fireworks: Mine hurts to take off also! We had to order a 71/4 to get it over my knuckle and it’s still bad! I wish I could just leave it on all the time but I can’t.
Bah to huge pics…sorry!

I have big knuckles too! My ring size is a 6…. but trust me, it’s better to have a large knuckle than to have to worry about your ring sliding off. I work with a girl who has very skinny fingers and little knuckles and sometimes her ring can literally just slide off…. she refuses to wear a guard.

I also have big knuckles. It’s not so bad: I never have to worry about my rings sliding off but its a bit frustrating when they slide around & I end up with my solitaire facing my palm instead of OUT WHERE THE WORLD CAN SEE IT!!!
