I’ve fallen in love. With a 25 carat Citrine ring that belonged to the heir of a Sugar company who then gave it to a now 98 yr old woman who gave it to her jeweler (in Seattle) to sell.
Ladies, the ring is beautiful. And unfortunately, taken upside down (Iphone blunder). But you get the idea.
It’s affordable and I can’t stop thinking about it.
Trouble is, everyone’s response is… “it’s ..so..big, I would hurt someone.” My best friend thinks it’s totally me and my FI really likes it. I have to consider that I work in an office and I’m often in court and at community meetings and I don’t want to give off the wrong impression but… ugh, I love it.
Help… I need some … is a 25 carat ring too large? It sits on a thin 18 K gold band (which I also love and might consider as a wedding band)…

I don’t know if it’s a good every day ring. I mean, you have to get stuff done, right? But it’s gorgeous and would make a perfect RHR.

@roshae: I LOVE that ring! I would totally rock it!

I think it might be a little big to wear every day, but it is gorgeous! Are you thinking about getting it as an engagement ring or as a cocktail ring for dressing up?

Get it! 🙂
And besides, if it gets int he way, no one says ou have to wear your engagement ring every day if you dont want to. I leave mine at home half the times I go out jsut because I don’t like to wear it while typing and forget to put it back on!

That looks more like a RHR or cocktail ring to me, beautiful but totally not practical for wearing every day.

Better as a cocktail ring, not for an engagement ring (citrine is too soft for daily wear anyway). Don’t wear it to work. Wear it on weekends.

I’d wear it with formal attire. Beautiful!

Holy crap that’s awesome! Wasn’t sure what to expect with the post, but I love love love that!

If it’s affordable, I would just get it. For me, because I wear really simple, minimalist jewelry usually, it’s too much for every day wear, but it would be gorgeous for dressier occasions.

Its quite large. As one who doesnt wear large rings I am taken aback by it. Of course, I do tend to agree with the other ladies here that perhaps you should buy it as a cocktail ring. I don’t think I would let it slip through my fingers if you love it so dearly.

I love citrines. They are affordable, and they look so lovely in yellow gold. I have a few citrine pieces. Nothing quite that large though!
Now, it is way too big for me for even dressy wear (I prefer a more understated look myself), but if you love it then I would say get it…however, just be aware citrines are a bit softer. I would not recommend it as an everyday ring, especially such a large one since it is easier to knock on things. But as a cocktail ring or a fun “going out only engagement ring”, sure. However, very few people are okay with an engagement ring they wear on such a limited basis.

Are we talking for an engagement ring or just a fun ring? I think it’s gorgeous but it doesn’t really seem practical for an ering.
