We are expecting a little baby girl on 6.19.11!! Fathers day. But honestly, I think she's coming sooner than that. It really could be any day now. We actually had a scare last night!!
No I'm not pregnant, we are adopting. My cousin is uhmm, let's say...
...institutionalized and she's expecting. The baby has no where to go and will be here anyday now. They asked us to foster and ultimately adopt her and we are honored. Of course this changes EVERYTHING!!!! But...I'm shopping online now for her little dress for the wedding. Awwwhhh.
They are also asking us to name her. My cousin doesn't want to for some reason. What do you guys think for a little baby girl?
@katieebee: Wow!! Congrats!!
Have you any ideas for a name at all?
That's so exciting! Congrats! Do you like traditional names, modern names, common/ uncommon names? Is there any letter you want/ don't want it to start with?
Congrats on the coming adoption!
This sounds like a lot of joy for you! I hope the baby's biological mother was getting the adequate care before hand to help ensure a healthy girl!
As far as names...hmm I've always like unusual ones. No offense to any Ashleys Brittneys, Lindseys, Jessicas, Christinas (my name!) Chelseas, Marys
I've always liked Zoe for some reason. Hmmm, I will heave to think of more! I dont often consider baby names.
Is there anything special to you like ethnic heritage or culture that you should maybe incorporate?
Aww Congrats! My sister adopted! But I honestly love my name, Clarissa (I swear I'm not conceited, I'm probably the most humble person you know lol) but that and Michaela, I really love that too!
Congrats again!
EEEEEEEEEE! CONGRATULATIONS!! For some reason, this post makes me feel so much more excited than a regular pregnancy! (Seeing that I'm pregnant, no one can tell me that was insensitive :p )
Congrats! Hoping for a healthy baby and a smooth transition into parenthood. :-)
Wow that's exciting news, and so amazing of you guys!! Congrats, I'm sure you'll choose a lovely name! Can't wait to see pictures of this bundle!
How exciting, congrats! Check out Baby Name Wizard, they have great pointers and tell you the history of names. http://www.babynamewizard.com/
Congrats! That's very exciting! The names that I love are more traditional - Grace, Audrey, Elizabeth and Isabella.
That is so exciting, and you are so wonderful for doing this for your family! Congrats!
Wow! That's so exciting! Congratulations!
How about Abigail? I think Abby is so cute for a little girl and DH said no way. I also like Adalyn.
Congratulations! I think this is just great! I love Isabella too, and I just recently came across Vivika (on a ballet show. not your everyday name). I also love Roselyn, Olivia, Nora, Madeline, Kylee, Faith, Lacy, Lily, Bethany, Aubrey, and Evelyn the best! Obviouly, not really a common-name fan.
Congratulations!
We are going with Davie Jane if its a girl (we are team green due August 18). Babynamewizard is a great site and if you have names you like and are looking for a particular style then try the site nymbler.
That is so exciting! For someone getting ready to go through the adoption process, I have tons of questions but this is time for celebration! As far as names, I've always wanted Alexis "Lexie" for a girl. I have thought about though if we choose to have a birthmom, I would probably want to use her name as the middle name in honor of her. Have you had any thought towards something like that?
If I ever have a girl, I love the name Madison, Maddie for short :)
Congrats! That's such exciting news!
I love the names Colby Blake, Lena Braxton, and Eloise Grace (Elle for short) for little girls. Oh, and Kennedy Dawson
@fvsoccer: hate to burst your bubble with the "uncommon names" that you like, but here are the top 20 girls names, as of May 2011
@bostonsmom: yes i know some(3) of them are on above list. but the majority are not. hence "not really" vs "not".
@fvsoccer:I just didn't want you to be disappointed if you chose a name off that list. A girl I know named her daughter Madison thinking it was the most unique name ever, and she got a very rude awakening when she saw how popular it actually is.
@bostonmom: oh man, i am throwing everything I have behind Vivika and Roselyn! Bummer for your friend!
@katiebee: what names are you leaning towards?
Wow, congratulations! Such exciting news. :) I hope you'll post when you bring her home, and tell us all about your new baby girl!
@katieebee: Congrats!!!!!! That sounds like such exciting news!! Let us knopw what you decide for a name.
My name is Ashley and it isn't popular for no reason
. We're going with Kennedy Madison or McKinsey Kennedy if we have a girl someday. Big congratulations to you, she'll be beautiful no matter what her name is!
Congratulations!! Very exciting news!
My favorite girls' names are Charlotte and Bryn
Awww !!! That actually gave me goosebumps lol.. what great news :) We were going to name our daughter Annabelle and her middle name would be Sophie....but after saying it outloud a million times will be naming our daughter Sophie instead with her middle name being Annabelle :)
That's so exciting! And wonderful that you can and will adopt her- your cousin is very lucky to have you! I love the name Haleiwa (the surf capitol of Hawai'i) which is hard to pronounce if you aren't familiar with the Hawai'ian alphabet. But, I always believe that when you see a child for the first time you'll know which name fits. If you want to have one ahead of time though I really love Addison, Addie for short. (FI doesn't like it, so I'll just keep on loving it!)
@katieebee: I just saw this! congrats!!!!! I miss seeing you around!
Hi ladies!!! I am overwhelmed with all the well wishes and blessings!!
Baby Josie was born this past Monday, June 13th, 2011. She has brought so much joy to me, FI, and my bio-daughter I cant even tell you. I am so happy God chose me to be a blessing to this little one.

I LOVE the name Josie! Thats my baby sister's name. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!
