I certainly didn’t have unlimited, but I managed to double the dollar amount my dad gave me to begin with. Thankfully my mother who was on board with all the “upgrades” we made.

I did not, but I know there is a “Luxury Wedding” forum over on The Knot!

Maybe if you define “large” more people will chime in?  I know it’s probably region-specific, so it’s tricky…

My budget is not unlimited, but it’s over 100k 😉

Ours is kind of weird, because it isn’t huge (about $30k-ish for the weddng; $43k if you include the rings and honeymoon); but it’s a lot smaller than most weddings I see for a similar budget (60 day guests and 100 evening guests), so, it feels kind of big for the numbers we’re having (ie the per-head cost is high if that makes sense).

Unfortunately we live in a fairly expensive area. We’ve made savings where we can, but some things, like food and drink and photography, we just weren’t prepared to compromise on, and they were some of the bigger costs.

Yes, I agree it is probably helpful to advise what your idea of “big” is.

We spent over $75K (not including my rings). To some that is a lot, to others I’m sure that isn’t much.

I have a “big” budget, but still don’t feel it’s taking me far due to my region.

Didn’t know there was a luxury wedding forum on the Knot!  I’m going to check it out!  For me, it’s not about my wedding being luxury, moreso about others relating to me regarding how much I’m spending on things. The Bee often makes you feel like a far outlier, an outcast, almost.  But I KNOW I’m not the only one having to spend so much (most people I know IRL do), so it’s nice to be able to find that online.

My budget was fairly large IMO though not outrageous for our area. Compared to the majority of the Bees though, it’s on the higher side. We had only 70 guests and we spent close to $50k excluding rings and honeymoon. This is also excluding a bridal party.

@mallo:  Goodness, other than a Vanderbilt getting married in the gilded age (yes, I just visited Newport), I can’t imagine a truly unlimited budget.  What exactly are you looking for in terms of coments or feedback?  You just asked if folks had a large budget, and it might be more helpful to state more specifically what you were looking to discuss about those budgets.

My parents didn’t really give me a set budget — basically anything that was reasonable. We’re still finishing up but will be around $130K (without the stuff FI and I are paying for like rings, attendant gifts, honeymoon, etc.). It still goes quickly and we’ve still had to make compromises…
