It made me break out around my chin, so I stopped taking it. It doesn’t do that to everyone though, I have friends that swear by it.

I considered taking Biotin at one point. My hair really thinned out due to stress so I was looking for vitamins to take. Some people swear by biotin, but I found that cystic acne is a huge side effect for a lot of people. It wasn’t worth the risk for me.

I’ve been taking prenatals and I think that they have really helped a lot. My hair is thicker and stronger.

@adoc86:  +1 on the prenatals. My hair grows like a weed anyway, and pre-natals help even more. I’d love if it made my hair thicker rather than just longer though. I haven’t found a solution for that yet.

@Bostongrl25:  I use it daily. It helped with not only my hair but my nails and my skin as well. I didn’t have any breakouts either. I will tell you that it took about a month or two for me to see the results. I could see the change in my hair more in pictures and the texture went back to full and glossy not dry and frizzy. Try it for a month and see if it helps.

I used to take it everyday, but I ran out of the pills and forgot to buy more. I should probably do that soon.

@MrsPanda99:  I don’t think its truly making my hair thicker than it originally was. I used to have SUPER thick hair though. For me, I think the prenatals are just quickening the process of replacing what I lost to get back to my original state. I have no idea if its possible to thicken hair that is truly originally thin :-/

I took biotin for a while. It does make ur hair grow if u take it daily and absolutely stick to it. It made my gray roots come out too quickly and my nails grew quicker as well.

Hi! I started taking Biotin because I’m transition from brunette back to blonde and that along with straightnening my hair all the time, my hair was FRIED. Biotin has def been helping make my hair softer, longer and stronger 🙂

@Bostongrl25:  I’ve taken it and loved it! I need to start taking it again. I have thin hair and nails and after a few weeks of taking biotin my nails started growing out, strong and not breaking instantly, and I got a lot of new “baby hairs” around my hairline. It also made my hair look more shiny and healthy in general. Love love love it!

I used to take Biotin and got HORRIBLE cystic acne and I’ve never EVER had any acne/pimple problems ever.  Even after I stopped taking it, I’m left with scarring and some residual breakouts.  It seriously is a total skin wrecker (at least for me).  I would seriously advise against it, but like other PP have stated, it doesn’t happen to everyone.  So I guess just be careful.  🙂

@Bostongrl25:  yes! I’ve been taking it for a little over a year and I love it! I also use this stuff on my hair http://www.kerastase-usa.com/Initialiste/KIN0000,default,pd.html

It’s a bit spendy, but it honestly works. I could tell a difference in my hair texture within 4 days – no joke! I don’t plan on using it forever, but I need my hair in top condition for the wedding so it’s worth the splurge to me.
