We were planning on doing those too! But we did just nix the idea. My brother got married two years ago and I asked my mom if she remembers the wedding favors from her own sons wedding and she said she couldn't recall what it was. Then I told her they never had any. And asked her if she actually missed it. My mom said no! Ha, so we are totally opting out of favors. Our OOT bags are pimp so that will be the favor in itself :) Goodluck though- I really like these. Do it :)
I think they may look cute but i don't think that they're pratical and will probably just get left behind at your reception. I think something edible is always a winner (as do most other bee's judging by all the boards on here)
It sounds really cute and I would love to get it, but will a lot of your guests be traveling by plane? They may decide just to leave them behind rather than have to pack them up (even though to me it's not a big deal, I'm just thinking about how some guests might be "annoyed")
We tried to DIY these for our wedding favors. It turned into a giant mess with them falling apart and/or molding the day we were supposed to leave for our wedding. I have no idea what we did wrong, but I'm weary of the DIY route with these.
@Ryansgirl: My fiance's grandfather and my parents would be travelling. Another reason I am on the fence with these...
I love the idea of bird seeds and flower seeds!!
I think im more drawn to the flower seeds though, with love and care they can grow forever... We have a charity called breast cancer research they do flower seeds and most of the monies go to charity. Maybe you could look into something similar in the states? I
I'm from the UK and getting married in Sorrento Italy in May 2013. I have no idea what to do for favours. If we do it, it would have to be lightweight and plane friendly hahaha....
I think they're super cute, but honestly, I don't know what anyone would do with them. When I get favors like this, they kinda just sit in my purse until I take it out. Then it ends up on a counter or something until I clean up and I throw it away. That's my honest opinion. I've had the hardest time picking favors because all the cute things I like I try to think what I would do with it if I received it as a guest, and I'm not liking what I come up with. I would go with something useful or practical and focus your efforts on making it cute
I think the bird seed is perfect! My cousin did (over the summer) a little cross that was made of seeds and something else and there were instructions for planting it and growing it! So, I am ALL FOR the nature-y favours!
I'm doing the same thing (bird seed favors) :) We are having a small destination wedding in California and most of our guests are really in to nature so I think it's fitting. I say if you love the idea, go for it! They are adorable!

We were thinking of doing personalized match boxes (with matches inside!) as a favour.
But! It seems like they may not be that simple to get in Canada. (If you know of place that does these in or ships to Canada, please share!)
So, just wondering what your thoughts are on heart-shaped bird seed favours.
Like these.
Yay, nay, may(be)?
