Might the Gallery have some pictures that can help you out with this?  I haven’t finalized what our card box will be — but good luck with your decision!

I weaved satin ribbon (in our color) in between the posts….It turned out really well! Then I pinned a broach in the front center. It definitely added a touch of elegance.

I have heard about a wedding where they placed the birdcage on a decorative but stable pillow.

Chela429 just posted a photo of her birdcage on this thread.

I found the photo below on this blog. You can view it larger on that site.

I love the birdcage pic,!!!  (Stupid question – are the openings beg enough for cards?)

I’m going to (attempt to) use some round boxes, stacked and decorated to look like wedding cake.  I know what I WANT to do, but no clue how to do it!  FIgured I’d get some pretty fabric, ribbon, etc., etc.  Any suggestions?  Pics would be great!  Thanx!

Mine was very similar to the picture above, including the decorative ribbon. The top opens, so guests can lift the lid and place the card inside.

Definitely keep someone near it at all times, to ensure no cards get swiped from the cage. (You’d be surprised how often this happens, especially if other events are taking place at your venue.)

are any of you bees now selling your birdcage card holders? I’ve been looking everywhere for a small to medium sized vintage cage with no luck! All the cages on craigslist are just big square birdcages. Others online are going for waaaay too much (my budget is under $20). Help??

Have you looked at craft stores in your area? I know wilton makes one and sells at all craft stores for like $20 but if you have a coupon its even better! I got mine from JoAnn Fabrics, it wasnt a wedding one just a decorative bird cage thats antiquey white with some decorations in the way the metal was put together. I got it on clearance for like $6. I would look at craft stores or home decor discount stores. Good Luck!

This wasn’t mine (we did a “stack of gifts” cardbox), but I had it saved in my ideas folder:

Does anyone know how to make the card that reads “card boxes”‘ on the birdcage?
