I had my first fitting this past weekend and LOVE my dress.  It is Maggie's Poppy.  I just can't decide on a regular veil or birdcage.....   I love the birdcage, but I know my mom isn't a huge fan, and not sure what fiance thinks...  I think he would like to see me in a regular one....  What do you all think?  The birdcage photo isn't the exact one I like, so I'm just holding it on my head to get kind of an idea.

Wow...tough decision! First, I like the straps. They are beautiful, and then you wont have to worry about pulling on your dress. As for the veil, I LOVE the look of the birdcage, but I would take what your fiance thinks into your decision. I had to think about that as well. I asked mine what he pictured me in and it all sounded very traditional. I went with a unique and will probably go with a traditional veil. Good luck!

I'm a birdcage fan too, but I like the way the elbow length veil looks on you with your dress!

I think you should keep the straps, their beautiful! And I like the birdcage best, which is weird for me because usually I go for traditional.

I usually am very pro birdcage, love them! But, in this case you get more of the "wow" factor with the regular length veil, it is SOO pretty and compliments your dress more then the birdcage :)

I loooove the birdcage on you! Could you maybe find a cheap veil to wear for the ceremony, then wear the birdcage for the reception?

I'm also trying to balance my funky tastes with my mom and my FI's more traditional tastes.  I plan on wearing a veil for the ceremony, then switching to a big flower in my hair for the reception.

Yep, I was actually thinking about doing that!  Just wearing the long one for the ceremony and then birdcage for reception.  This is the birdcage veil and fascinator that I am in LOVE with!

Your dress is gorgeous and with so much beautiful detail, I think the birdcage is a great complement!

I went through the same debate...since I only spent about $30 on my (regular) veil on Etsy, I figured I could add in a birdcage and not feel guilty about it, so was going to be more traditional for the ceremony and then do the birdcage after...but my hair person was hesitant about it - pulling out my long veil and putting a different one is was definitely going to mess up my hair...so in the end I've just opted to go birdcage for the day - and the mister loves birdcages! :)

I am SO bad at making decisions.  If I have to be the one to decide where to eat dinner, you would think my life depended on it.  Making all of these wedding decisions might just be enough to do me in!   LOL

Oh gosh, you look so beautiful! I love your dress on you and I'd say keep the straps! I think you get a definitely more dramatic and romantic effect with the traditional veil.

I actually love the regular length veil - I think it goes so well with your dress!! I agree with previous posters who mention maybe switching veils between the ceremony and reception.. that way you get to have both looks!

Also side note - your dress is gorgeous!!

love the dress - it's gorgeous. the birdcage looks great with it. if you were doing a regular veil, i'd suggest doing something really sheer but longer actually.

I'd have to agree with the loving the straps and the regular veil.  The birdcage veils are gorgeous, but with that dress I really like the regular veil.

I'm gonna go against everyone and say birdcage. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the classic vintagey look, plus with your dress details, it's absolutely stunning!!!

@annoona:    It is diamond white.  Which is still white, but just not as bright as regular white.  The saleslady held up another dress next to me that was "white" while I had this one on, and then you could really tell the difference.

And since you're considering buying this dress, I will tell you that it sparkles all over, which you can't tell from my pics or the pics on Maggie's website.  There are clear sequins sewn onto the bottom here and there, which makes it kind of twinkle.  It was a nice surprise when I finally saw it in person!

And also, order a size up.  The ladies there insisted ordering me a size 4, which is what I wear in street clothes.  Well, it took my MOH and I a good 10-15 minutes to get this thing up over my butt!  Once we did that everything was fine, but I'm def gonna try to lose a few pounds before the wedding to make it a little easier to get into!

I love the regular veil with this dress.  The birdcage veil is cute, but I think the regular veil works better with this dress.

Thank you very much 4 ur help huneybun, i loved it more when u told me that it sparkles all over !! :) I think I'll go 4 the diamond white like urs ;)

Thanks also 4 ur attention about the size, in this case I'll but size 8, coz my size on street clothes is 6, but I ve a problem that I ve big hips comparing 2 my body, so I think its better if I send them my measurements around the bust and the hip to get 4 me the exact size.

It is very bad that my country doesn't ve this brand :(

Thank u 4 ur help. I'm still voting 4 the regular veil :)

I know the regular veil is classic, but the birdcage veil gives the dress an edge!  Either would be great.
