I'm actually going to design my own!
I'm working on them now so that when baby arrives all I have to do is insert a picture and replace the pertinent information.
My plan is to upload to Vistaprint or alike and have them take care of printing and cutting etc. Vistaprint often run deals so I can get them done pretty cheap.
Ill be doing my own too & using the same printing resource I used for all our wedding stuff. Probably cost somewhere around 30 bucks after printing & envelopes.
I just ordered some on cvs.com - because it was inexpensive & easy!
Get a vista print account and wait for the sale e-mails to come through. You might be able to get some for free even.
I can't sway you, because I spent a lot on ours and I don't regret it! We got beautiful announcements printed on lovely cotton paper, and I cut one apart (to display both front and inside) and framed it in my son's room. My MIL also framed hers and keeps it on display in the living room. I saw it as a once-in-a-lifetime splurge, so we went all out. Hope you find one you love at a price you are happy with!
@regberadaisy: I print at the local college. It's the Media Services dept here.... Where they do their in house flyers & posters. They have a 70lb gloss paper that I use. It's not the same quality paper that I could get through a tiny prints or such but it's like 5 cents a sheet for tabloid sheets & like 15 cents for color printing (~20¢ for 4+ announcements depending on the size & how many I can fit)... So the savings are totally worth it.
We were debating between 2 designs on the same site and one was $1 more> Since I knew many people would throw them out we ordered 10 of the more expensive ones for ourselves and parents, then ordered the cheaper version to mail out to others. Just an idea! :)
Brilliant! I wish I still had connections at our college. Alas, it would mean calling in favors for us.
@regberadaisy: You could just try the local college & see if they'll do it. Ours doesn't require you to be a student/work there... most people just don't know about it.
My BF uses snapfish or kodak. A simple photo card is all thats needed.

What is the average cost you spent on your BA and where did you order from?
I found awesome ones on Tiny Prints but they are $3.29, so for the amount I need it's over $300! I know there are cheaper ones but I fell in love with the Tri Fold ones and of course they are the most expensive. Please talk me out of this and tell me to go with a cheaper, simpler one or help me justify it! hahaha. I know most people just throw them away so do I really want to spend that kind of money, but they are soooo cute! AHhh
