So my fiancé and I are getting married next month and hope to conceive immediately. I have been taking bc pills for 6 years now. I originally started taking them to help my complexion. Anyways.
So heres the problem. I’m suppose to start day 1 of my bc pack on the 17th. We are getting married on the 23rd. I can’t not take the weeks worth because I’ll have a major breakout. Is it safe to only take the first weeks worth of pills and then quit in hopes of getting pregnant immediately? Or should I suck it up and finish out the month of pills and try to conceive almost a month after our wedding?

Finish out the pack. Or else you might screw up your cycle and probably have break through bleeding instead of conceiving after the wedding. Period + honeymoon = no fun. Just wait until next month and don’t start a new pack. A few weeks won’t be that bad at all. You can do it! Enjoy your wedding 🙂

It is safe. You will mostly likely have an irregular period that month but if you are fine with that then go ahead and stop. Just realize you may think your pregnant bc of your irregular period so just be prepared for a negative even if your having unusual symptoms.

I don’t think it is unsafe but it will mess up your cycle. If you end your period, take a weeks worth of pills, then stop, you’ll most likely have a period again as soon as you stop taking your pills (or at least some spotting). This happened to me, I took about 9 days worth of pills, and went on a trip and forgot to take my pills with me. I started my period 2 days later, even though I had just had it a week and a half before. I would just finish the pack.

Thank you for your comment! I think it’s best that I just finish out the month:)

I definitely don’t want to mess up my cycle… Good point! I’ll just wait and finish the pack. Thanks! 🙂
