I had no idea where to post this so feel free to move it. I started bc a whole of 2 weeks ago in preparation for preventing getting my period on my wedding day. Anyway I’m useless at remembering pills and have forgotten the last 2 days. Oops. aince about 3 days after my period ended I have had a small amount of blood every time I go to the toilet and I have small cramping like I’m about to get my period the whole time. Should I just not take it tomorrow and get my period then go again? I have 2 months before my wedding so only a short time to perfect this oops. Or should I start the pills again for the next week before I go on sugar pills next monday?

Read the directions that came with your pill pack (if you threw it away, open next month’s pack and get the directions). Each brand tells you what to do if you miss 1 pill, 2 pills, etc. and it varies based on which week of the pack you missed.
So read the directions and do what they tell you 🙂
then for the future, set an alarm for the same time every day and take your pill. If you keep forgetting them, it can really acrew up your cycles

@Glasgowbound: agreed! I have an alarm set so I don’t forget it. And i keep them in my purse so I always have them with me.

I leave mine on the vanity so I take them every night when I brush my teeth. If they are out of sight, they are out of mind!

I think if you miss one you’re supposed to take it as soon as you remember, and again at the normal time. I had an alarm set on my phone (I have an IUD now so I don’t have to worry about it) that went off at 7:15 every night for me to take it. That might help you.
Read the directions that came with your pack.

Set a cell phone alarm. Set your fiance’s alarm. Program your bedside alarm. Find a way to take your pills more regularly if you want this to work.
If you want to skip your period, not every brand of pill can do this. If you told your doc specifically that you want to skip your period they would have given you the proper type, but a tri-phasic pill has three different sets of hormones — It’s difficult (and impossible for some people) to skip a period on a tri-phaisc pill. You need a mono-phasic (One dose of hormone throughout all three weeks.) So, make sure you have a mono-phasic pill if you want to skip.
Secondly, read the information in your packet. It will tell you what to do in the event of skipped pills.

@Mrs2b2014: Definitely read the pill package. I think you can generally double up on missed days but I’m pretty sure that once you get to week 3 doubling up is not effective. There are sooo many different types of BC though and I’m sure it all depends on the type of pill.
And definitely set an alarm! I have had mine set on my phone forever and it is so helpful. I’d never remember to take it at the same time otherwise.
