Talk to your doctor about this first, but you can go from one ring to another without having a break in between.  I used to do this a lot, and now my doctor has me using one ring for 4 weeks and then switching to a new one without a break.

I do that with the pill, skip the ‘sugar’ pills and skip the period, so my body doesn’t go through the Pill-withdrawl-period… since the Nuva Ringsimply delivers the same hormones in a differnt manner, I think just inserting a new ring the week you’d take the old one out would accomplish the same thing.

I’d ask you physician.  That’s what I did and it was really easy and I just did it when I had an appt.  Mine was all for scheduling it around my wedding/honeymoon (it was originally her idea before I even thought about it!!)  Try maybe calling if your ob or family doctor has a nurse you could talk to vs making an appointment and spending money to just hear them tell you 2 sentences!

@klb2748: Honestly, I would get a second opinion, just because I know you can do it safely.  Talk to her again, and if she is still against it, call and schedule an appointment with another dr.
