    Hello...

So my husband is turning 36 on Saturday.  Six weeks ago from this Thursday, we had our first child.

I have to admit that with a newborn in the mix, I kind of forgot his birthday was coming.

    Any suggestions for a gift?

    Thanks!

Are you looking for something baby-related?  Or just something he would like?

Some of the baby-related gifts I 've given my husband include a digital picture frame (complete with preloaded baby pictures) for his office and his favorite children's book to read to DD.  This year, I'm going to buy him a dollhouse kit he can put together for DD and give to her on her next birthday (he's been wanting to start a new project for a while, now).

What about a date night? A gift certificate for the movie theater and his favorite restaurant, with a baby sitter lined up (or just a quick meal if you're breast feeding) so you can get some alone time!

I agree with Artbee, I'm sure he would appreciate a date night, maybe a nice steak restaurant. Think of a place with a cozy and quiet atmoshphere, after all the npisy baby stuff at home. I had a similiar situation and I gave my fiance a James Avery ring with our son's birthday engraved on the inside. He loved it.

My husband just turned 30 and our daughter was 6 weeks.  I arranged for a large dinner with our family and had a picture framed of he and our daughter.  We're also getting a fence sothat's some of his gift too.  lol

    Thanks for these great suggestions!

A date night would be nice but a) I'm breastfeeding on demand, and b) there isn't anyone I'd feel comfortable leaving the baby with alone.  Maybe when she's older, or maybe I can arrange for a date night indoors and get food brought in?  Mmm, there's an idea.

I also ordered a Shutterfly card with pictures of all of us, and I found some cute Etsy T-shirts that say "Dad, Est. 2011."  My sister-in-law runs an embroidery business so I'm working with her on creating a T-shirt for him.  It'll be late, but I think he'll understand.
