*Shorter version if you scroll down*
I’m planning my soon-to-be step daughters 7th birthday party and I have way too many ideas for my own good. She is an Alaskan girl who will climb a tree in a dress and puddle jump in her sparkly shoes and dressed in her sunday’s best without hesitation. So when I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and what she wanted to do for her party she said that she wanted to be like Cinderella, so a royal affair! I was stunned but ecstatic because I know how to plan a princess party considering my birthday theme to this day is princess (I’m kind of kidding )
Right away I started planning. At first we were going to have it in a gym and do normal party like games only switch it to themes about our little miss. Like pin the tiara on our princess with her face and have a dragon pinata and we hit it with swords instead of bats… Her invitation is going to be a fairytale story and ect. Seriously, put so much thought into this. Which would be a co-ed party.
Omgosh, then I started thinking about the work. OH the work on top of wedding planning and being a Stay-At-Home Mom to 3 lovely children (ages 1,4,6) just seemed like I was digging my sanity a grave.
So maybe, just maybe, have a tea party with 10 of her closest girl friends and decorate a cake each and have ourselves a smaller party and instead of having 15-20 kids to buy favors for, get our smaller group tutus, tiaras and an apron (love the dollar store!) keep it simple and fun.
Then I went back to the fairytale theme since I love planning parties and I’m known for having extravagant birthday parties for the kiddos. Which, is funny, because we are having an itty bitty wedding, far far far from extravagant.
Anyway. Pretend like you’re about to be 7 and which one you’d do..I’ve asked her about both and she said they both sound fun!
