My parents have a horrible relationship in every way, seriously. It’s been getting worse for nine years.
There has been alot of horrible stuff done to me aswell which I have forgiven and tried to forget.
My parents forgot my birthday in front of me.
Mum has been planning a three day, expensive, very dad like birthday for my dad.
I am staying with my boyfriend on my birthday because they forgot, even though they made sure to remember their anniversary four days before my birthday.
I am doingsomething at night with friends.
They want me to think of something to do with them at the weekend that is what they want, I want an activity they want a meal with drink.
Something worth cancelling their plans for.
I am so upset by them all the time, but I have to think of something.
Sorry this post is so succinct, this is the third time writing it where it didn’t get deleted because I forgot a subject so it has gotten shorter and shorter

@JazzieB: If they are having their own issues AND you guys have a not-so-nice history, I would (personally) not give one bit of thought to them forgetting my birthday. It sounds like they have done far worse to you.
If it were me, I’d tell them “thanks but no thanks, I have prior plans” regarding your birthday and go do stuff with people that don’t make you feel like crap.

Yeah I’d skip doing anything with them if they forgot my birthday but want something planned for themselves. Go do your own thing. How awful :-

@megz06: Thankyou 🙂 they always make me feel like if they dont get the best they go mental but if I want something I am selfish.
Mum went off on one at me for wanting a new duvet for my new bed even though I would pay! Buys herself a new one every month or so and then gave me one because it was stained with blood so then I could have it.
🙁 ah well I will have an ace time with my boyfriend and friends 🙂
Didn’t know if I was over reacting but I have been a bit upset at work. Makes it worse that they say it needs tobe something they like enough to warrant cancelling their plans they have every week (golf and flyball) even though I am taking time off uni to go to dads.
