I’m turning the big three-oh today and what I thought was a present from my fiance, it was actually UPS delivering my dress! I ordered it May 21 and 2.5 weeks later, it’s at my door! They told me it would take sometime between 2-3 weeks and boy were they spot on!
During the weeks inbetween, I was worried I would regret my decision. I’ve come across some really nice dresses on the hive, for instance, from designers I hadn’t looked into. Regardless, I’m just going to get over those feelings because I plan on sticking it through. It’s still a beautiful dress.
I do think I still bought it too early and bought the dress for a size that fits me now (albeit a little big… I’m inbetween sizes and instead of ordering 2 sizes too big, I went with just one size up). So I just have to make sure I maintain my weight for the next 10 months. Shouldn’t be too much of a problem, but you never know!
Anyway, here she is (sorry for the armpit flash):
So, one thing I was thinking of doing was changing the neckline a little. See the scallop edge where my cleavage should be? I was thinking, if it’s possible, to have those removed for a traditional sweetheart look. I’m an A cup so I figure making it a little more revealing won’t be such an issue and might help me look a little more proportionate up there.
Also, I wasn’t sure if I should keep those little “hairs.” I considered cutting them off at the neckline, but they also appear at the bottom. Should I have those trimmed too for consistency, or cut only the top and leave the bottom as is, or not even bother trimming them (if it’s possible to change that scalloped edge and keep them that is)?
Now, I can start styling it–thinking at the moment of crystal (or crystal and pearl) chandelier earrings, cuff bracelet, flower in the hair? Veil or no veil? I’ll probably write another pole post after I do more thinking. ; )
What do you ladies think?
