I’m having a Tim Burton themed wedding (specifically, Nightmare Before Christmas). Our colours are black, white, and purple.
My fiance and I are getting married in a very old school that has a “haunted” feel to it (fun fact: My Grandfather who has passed on helped to rebuild this school many years ago and I think it’s really special that we’re getting married in it!)
I knew that I wanted a bolero but I wasn’t fond of the ones the bridal shop had. I found some on etsy that are black and I think that they are absolutely beautiful and add to my theme. I’m looking for a few opinions.
Here’s my dress: (NOTE* I’m wearing the grey sash during the reception only. Bolero for the ceremony and sash for the reception)
These are a few of the boleros that I’ve been looking at:

I like bolero #2.
But you look so beautiful in the dress the way you are I would hate to see it covered up!

Option 2 is stunning. I am not sure what is your thought process behind the sash for the reception but I would actually wear the bolero for the reception and the sash for the cermony! I am traditional, so take this with a grain of salt, but it feels weird to walk down the aisle with something black on you, esp covering your dress.

@Tallulah_: I love this idea! I am doing a Halloween-y/Masquerade theme and I also totally plan on wearing a black bolero with a white dress. To me, it seems like a good way to incorporate some gothiness while still having a white dress. And it’s also great that it’s removable, so you don’t have to commit to the look for the whole night. So yeah- I’m a big fan of this idea.
Out of the boleros that you posted, the second one is completely gorgeous!! I’m not sure, however, which would go best with your dress. Maybe Option 3 or something similar because it won’t cover the sparkle on the top of your dress?

@PattyPlayPal: exactly! I love that you can wear it for awhile and then take it off! Also, I love your theme 😀
@lusik303: I hadn’t thought of swapping them! I’ll consider that, thanks! 😀
@Bunny_the_Bride: thank you for the nice compliment!

As a follow up, I went with this bolero: The keyhole back matches the lace keyhole back to my bridesmaid’s dresses! If anyone is looking for a bolero the seller called Alexisbridal on etsy is excellent. I’m in Canada and my bolero was at my door within two weeks. The quality is great and it fits me very well. They have bolero’s in many styles and colours.
