I would try J.Crew's LBD section (Or Banana Republic/Ann Taylor)... but if you need plus sizes, I would recommend Nordstrom or Dressbarn. I'm assuming you want a super special non-bridesmaid type dress, right?
Another option: the girls all pick their own. That's what mine are doing! I just have to "ok" their LBD of choice.
@ cinemaparadiso Yes I want a non-bridesmaidsy dress! lol I will have to check out those places. I have thought about having them all pick out their own LBD...I am not completely sold on that just yet but we shall see! Maybe if I don't find what I want I will tell them that. Thanks!

@amanda.lynn - J. Crew doesn't have plus sizes. :( They were my first choice until I realized that. I don't want to single any maids out!
what is your price range for the dresses? I think if you have girls of all different sizes then you will have to go with a BM dress if you want them all the wear the same dress.
My bridesmaids wore long black dresses, and I let them pick their own dress as lonng as they were strapless and long. Everyone could pick a style according to their preference and budget, and the bridal party as a whole looked very well put together at the end. I don't think anyone noticed they were all wearing different dresses.
But I realize I am not answering your questions. David's Bridal? Chinese dressmakers on E-Bay?
I vote for JCrew. That's what my gals did and they were all able to get their dresses on Final Sale!
Talk to bridal stores in your area - a lot of them can tell you which designers will pre-alter the dresses (formal floor length to tea length or cocktail) before they are shipped to the store. I had no idea that designers would do this, but the dress shop I am working with said they will and can on specific dresses. My BM dresses are black too! My grandmother's first reaction was 'HOW MORBID!' Well, I guess she's lucky she doesn't have to wear one then because they are elegant, slimming and down right classic (not something I will look at in 20 years in photos and say OMG what was I thinking).

BETSEY JOHNSON black cocktail dresses rock!! my bridesmaids will be in them.
I am in this exact same boat! I have looked EVERYWHERE i feel like! And nothing has caught my eye. Either too plain or too much! Please let me know if you find any! GOOD LUCK :)

So I am looking for a super cute knee length bm dress! I know it sounds so simple to find a black dress but none of the ones I have seen are good enough. I found one at White House Black Market but they didn't have everyone's sizes. Any suggestions?? Thanks! ;)
