Here's what I'm using for my MOH (I don't have any bridesmaids). The pic is in white, but only so you can see the dress detailing. The actual dress will be in black.
It's very "Audrey Hepburn" looking IRL, and cocktail length. I can't remember the exact price, but I think about $160(?). It's made by Jasmine B2.
I know there are also a lot of really cute bridesmaids dresses at JCrew, and I would imagine most (if not all) would be available in black.
hope this helps :)
I probably sound like a broken record, but I think Black House White Market is great for little black dresses! This is where my BM dresses are from... all of their stuff is pretty classy, not too short.
Both great ideas! Thanks ladies! I love the Jasmine dress and I have been looking on the White House Black Market sire for a bit now. I will have to run it by the maids! And Blueshoes2...your pic is of the exact shoe i'm looking for for my wedding! I've been ebay surfing for the past few months! :) LOVE THEM!
We used black dresses for our bridesmaids. They were from Davids Bridal and under 100 bucks (on sale on the website). I loved them!
If you're not set on the idea of the dresses matching, I would imagine you can find dresses pretty much anywhere fitting your description. Especially right now, with all the holiday dresses out in department stores.
My bridesmaids wore black, both from David's Bridal, and under 200.00. They have tons of simple dresses there, and most are under 200.00.
I'm doing black too and I had the hardest time finally deciding. We decided on Eden Bridal #7266 in Black and I love them, they are simple, but they are exactly what I was looking for!
i'm also doing black BM dresses... i don't want them to match so i think i may look at Nordstroms with all the girls and see what they like. I agree, with the holidays there are usually great deals on LBD's... especially New Years party dresses.
I am doing black cocktail length bridesmaid dresses as well. My little secret, well not so secret, is Nordstroms. We found namebrand, stylish but simple, cocktail dresses in black that are perfect!! They were under $200 and Nordstroms will also taylor for free on any dress purchase. I am so happy I didn't go with an overpriced bridal store when I could get namebrand dresses from Nordstroms for a better price. The girls are also excited to be able to add a little black cocktail dress to their wardrobe for future parties.
I'm doing the black BM dress thing too. My maids chose Bill Levkoff Style 378. We had three fairly different body types and it looked great on all of them. I think the price was $220 maybe but they get 20% off where I purchased my dress. I found it for about $150-180 online.

I love the idea and almost went with them! But design plan shifted a tad.
I am a huge fan of the LBD and think it's so elegant.
Hepburn all the way! Gotta have pearls too. (good present for the bm's btw).
Hi! This is the dress I think I'm going to use for my BMs, only I'm doing grey (I think). It's $112 from Netbride.com--style D447 from Alfred Sung. You can't really tell in the pic since it's black, but it has some cute pleats on the top. Alfred Sung has a lot of reaaally cute dresses, and reasonably priced. I also think Nordstrom is a good idea...especially since they probably have a lot of LBDs for party dresses, which may even go on sale soon! Good luck. Your bridesmaids will love you for picking something totally re-wearable :)
Thats my hope! I want them all to love their dresses! This one is VERY cute, i definitely will check out that site. Thanks so much for your help!
My gals chose JCrew black dresses in their shorter length. Yes, at full price, some of them are quite spendy, but they go on super sale, if you watch. My gals got them on Final Sale and no one spent more than $70!
I wish I could find a pic of the ones I got for my girls!! They are from JC Penny actually, they are one shouldered, with the one sleeve being very flowy and elbow length, they are knee length, really really awesome to the point that I got one for myself! They were on clearance for 40-50 each depending on which store i got them from! I went to 3 different stores to find them, but my bridesmaids can't get off their lazy asses to find dresses, or some other bs excuse, so to make it happen i did it. So in the end they are each paying me 70 dollars a dress, which is still a steal!
LRWEDD that dress is beautiful! I will show you this one, I really like the top of it, and I am sure that they have cocktail length skirts to match, or tea length, whichever you prefer. I love this!

I am going to do black bridesmaids dresses (if I decide to have bridesmaids), but am letting them each pick their own--just make sure they are all cocktail length. I think either matching or non-matching is great, but I think that particularly in black, it may look even more elegant if they are all different--less "matchy matchy" AND less complaints by the girls if we decided on a dress that some don't LOVE. (Although with a black cocktail dress, even picking a single one that is not everyone's fav it's still probably the best deal that most BMs will get!! I know I wish that's what my prior brides had done!)
@ acyclec -- LOVE the one with the bow
We're doing black bridesmaids dresses! We're going kind of 50s/rockabilly. This dress, except in black.

My black bridesmaid dresses are from Nordstrom, they were only $98.00
My friend is getting married and looking for options for bridesmaid dresses. This is her favorite so far.. I will admit if this is the choice I may actually wear it again.
White House/Black Market has great choices under 200. It was the only place we found a great dress, that looked great on 6 girls. Check them out :)

I REALLY love the idea of black bridesmaids dresses. It makes me think classy and elegant. I am leaning towards cocktail length, and i'm looking for something simple, but not too plain. Turns out this is much easier said than done! I can't seem to find what i'm looking for anywhere. Anyone have any ideas where to find cute black bridesmaid dresses? Any suggestions will be much appreciated!
Side note...I really want to stay under $200...this also adds another obstacle!
