Wow! I am definitely going to check into this too. I am not super knowledgable about the Cricut, but I am going to do some research on it and the sales. Anyone know the scoop?
are the cartridges on sale at both Michael's and JoAnn's for 65% off?? I knew about the Michael's sale, but there is a Joann's close to my house too! :-p
@gabrielleelise1981: I think it was 60% off for the cartridges at Michaels and 65% at Joanns. I found these deals at http://www.blackfriday2010.com/
If you are going to get the Cricut, I suggest getting the bigger one. You will be able to do a lot more with it, and you won't feel like wanting to upgrade later. Getting the bigger one will save you money in the long run because you won't be purchasing two of them. I have the big one (Expression) and have done several wedding projects with it that I would not have been able to do with the smaller one.
I have the bigger one (the expression), and I'm glad I got the bigger one.
You don't need Illustrator for Sure Cuts A Lot or Make The Cut. There's a free program called Inkscape that you can download that will do everything you need to do to make the pictures work with the program.
I bought the smaller one first because it was cheaper and ended up getting the bigger one for more projects. Don't waste time or money. Go straight to the Cricut Expression.
I saw the sale and am debating getting on. I would want to use it for DIY wedding projects. I'm just not sure if I would use it much after the wedding. I like scrapbooking and all, but since I've been with my FH, I've had no time to scrapbook. Hmm, decisions, decision...

I don't know if everyone has seen this but the cricut is on sale at both Michael's and Joann's for $70! It is the small personal one for $70 and the expressions (12x12) at Joann's for only $200. All cartridges are 65% off.
I am debating buying the larger cricut. I really want one and this is such a good deal. I heard they pratically never go on sale. My only concern is then do I have to buy all the software too? Can I use sure cuts a lot without Illustrator? Any one know where I can get Illustrator for cheap?
