Have you been to this website yet? They are all about Black Friday! The link I am posting are some of their price predictions for 2010. We probably won't do too much shopping this holiday, since our wedding is so soon after. Next year though, I am ALL OVER IT. I love the madness :-)
Good luck on the Ipad...One thing I know about Apple is that the prices don't really go down at all for them for Black Friday shopping.
I'm also not going to be going shopping early this year. But I'll survive.
Wow! Your TV story is super cool! I think I just might go out on Wednesday night this year too!
I am SOOO anxious for Black Friday. Yes, I am one of those pathetic shoppers that will get up at 4am to save $20.00 on a "must have" little tikes toy for my kid. All the woman in my family do our "Battle Plan" Thanksgiving night after dinner. I love the rush you get with a good sale or getting the last item!!! But don't worry, I'm not one of those CRAZY girls who will run you over with my car to get inside first. Those ladies just scare me!
We won't really shop too much because the wedding is coming up, but we want to give our parents a NOOK. We are thinking about ordering it right now instead of waiting until Black Friday. Plus, FH's birthday is on Black Friday this year and IDK if he would like fighting a crowd on his B-day.
@MissFlipFlops: We've been going since I was little, and one year (my sister and I were still young), we were waiting outside of LS Ayres and we were first in line. Three cute little old ladies were waiting behind us. When they opened the door, they actually pushed me and my sister out of their way!
Black Friday is one of my favorite days of the year :). I used that site when I wrote about it for my college paper, it's really helpful!
I did all of my black Friday shopping from the comfort of my couch last year. The same deals that were good in the stores were good online. Before I went to bed, I made all of my shopping carts then set my alarm for midnight. I ended up having to get up a few times during the night to submit different orders since their sales started at different times but it totally beat having to deal with the BF madness. This year we're hoping to score a killer deal on our wedding bands!
FI and I are actually hoping to buy our wedding bands on Black Friday...I just hope the jeweler has a sale! We haven't actually confirmed that part yet :)
Michaels also usually has some really great coupons all weekend long! Unfortunately our store is kinda small and by Sunday they are sometimes out of stock.
I was going to say that Best Buy has the same deals online and you can pick up in store. I have done this before. However, I just love going out on Black Friday. I think I enjoy it because it is time alone just for ME! I love getting the sales papers on Thursday and marking and making my list from each store. I am so an in and out shopper on that day! Plus I try to get there as close to open so the line to check out isn't horrible.
The big item I am needing to get is a Playstation Move and we are hoping that his wedding band will be on sale!
Oh and I plan on trying to find some items I want for the wedding!
Yay I can't wait! I have been stuck working the past two years but this year I should be able to shop to my heart's content haha. I plan to start at the nearby outlets opening at midnight and work my way back to the two malls. I'll get papers the Sunday before and on Thanksgiving and make up my lists and routes to take. I've already finished making my list of what to watch for. I have a lot of things for myself on the list, and hopefully I'll also be able take care of most of the Christmas gifts I need to buy also. I use theblackfriday.com (the FB page anyways) and bfads.net which has really helpful emails.
@MacFaniam24: I think there is a bit of both.
I know a lot of stores are having great sales this week as well as probably next week. For example, if you go to Amazon.com "Today's Deals" you can get the Harry Potter series for $23 on DVD (a bit more for blue-ray). Also an Apple TV is now going for $140.
@caszos: I hear that TJ Maxx will have a limited supply of 16GB IPads for $388...which is an awesome deal. The website I read that on did not say which TJ Maxx locations would have them, but maybe you could call around. Good luck!
@hmaxwell77: I heard this as well! I am still trying to talk husband into this but we will see!
@hmaxwell77: Sorry I don't think you're going to find that Ipad at TJ Maxx anymore. I just read this.
That really stinks. I am going to buy this playhouse for a friend. Sale starts at 10 am at Toys R Us. Normally it sells for $350 but its on sale for $175. The store around here still has 2 so I'm hoping I get one!
@caszos: Just letting you know in case that wasn't a typo, TRU actually opens at 10 PM Thanksgiving night, with additional doorbusters starting at 5 AM.
@kkkatieB12: Thanks, it was a typo!
Does anyone know where to get the best price on a PS3 with or without the Move Bundle?
Here is what I have found:
Sony PlayStation 3 160GB Console w/ Little Big Planet, ModNation Racers and Cars Blu-ray Movie - $300 at Best Buy (opens at 5 am)
It looks like Kmart has the same deal but with a $25 gift card.
Also, it seems like the controlers are going for about $35

Hi everyone,
I know its really early in November, but I was hoping we could start a thread with best prices/deals on items for black friday. I love to start researching things now.
Last year my husband and I knew we wanted to buy a new flat screen tv. We went out on Wednesday night "looking" to make sure we liked the models we had researched online and to make sure the store had those models in stock. When we were talking to a sales guy and told him we would be back tomorrow to buy the tv he said the prices were actually good starting that Wednesday! This was at Best Buy. It was an awesome Thanksgiving relaxing in front of our new tv and sleeping in on Friday when everyone else was fighting the crowds at the stores.
This year we are hoping to pick up a cheap ipod (maybe even an ipad?) and maybe a PS3 for my husband. We also would love a new surround sound system or even a laptop if there was a great deal on them!
So, as you find or hear about great black friday prices, lets post them here. Also, make sure to post what state/location the deal is for since I'm sure it will vary.
