If your bridesmaids are wearing black it can look quite striking. I love the idea of black! I say go for it. With a sparkly brooch it'll look amazing! :D
I personally think if you want black, then GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!! If you love it and feel great in it, then use the black sash. I know a girl from school that just got married that had black IN her dress. See here:

I would try to maybe tie it in with your bridesmaids dresses if you feel eecck about it- maybe add a black sash to their green/ sage dresses, or have black and green ribbon tied around their bouquets with little black hanging/flowing ribbon hanging off. Black can be classy when it comes to weddings, you just have to do it right.

My dress is entirely French lace and I've tried every colored sash against it, for some reason black looks the best. I plan to tie it high at the waist (to create an empire waist) with a side bow and maybe a brooch. Do you think black is an appropriate color? I'm afraid it will be too glum looking. My bm dresses are light green...
