I’ve Googled and looked on the boards but didn’t see too many real brides with a colored sash. I didn’t try one on when I ordered my dress (I didn’t actually get to try on the dress I ordered, just similar ones) and the only sashes I tried on were either white or ivory so they didn’t stand out against the dresses.
I really want to wear a black sash with the dress that I purchased, but I’m not sure if it will “cut me off” and make me look more wide or stumpy. Does anyone have pics of themselves with black or colored sashes?

I don’t hav any pics of me in my dress, but the black sash on mine actually makes my waist look tiny. I guess it depends on the placement though. Can you post a pic of your dress?

This is the model pic. I ordered the dress in a 12 so I look nothing like that lol. It comes with this sash, but there’s a gorgeous black one on Etsy that I have been obsessed with. Since the dress is a drop waist, I thought maybe I could wear the sash at my natural waist and it would work…
The sash I desperately want to rock so bad 🙂

I say get the sash, I love it! Mine hits me above my belly, so it is super slimming. Once you get it you can play around with placement. But go for it!

Get the sash, you won’t know until you try and if you don’t regret may set in!

Def get the sash! 99% of the time it’s more slimming and gives the illusion of a smaller waist and longer legs.

I wore this horsehair sash in black:

I’ve seen alot more of them lately. Alot of the Enzoani dresses have black sashes. I got the ivory version of my belt but my dress is typically shown with the black belt. It is beautiful but I felt like the scale of it was overpowering on my body.

I’d say get the black sash, it not only can help define your waist, but offer you constrasting color with the dress which make you looking more appealing 😉

This is the sample of my dress with a gray sash I added. My dress was ordered without the beading. I think sashes are a great way to highlight your natural waist, especially if you’re wearing a dropped waist dress.

I’m wearing a black sash with my dress. this picture shows me with a 1″ sash around my waist but i’ll actually be wearing a 2″ sash slightly higher than my natural waist.

I was against belts until I tried one one. I felt it was flattering and went with this one:
I then cut the belt tails and added the flowers and bling broach to the front:
I know this thread is old but I found it hard to find “real” bride pics.
