I don't prefer black table cloths - just MHO...But I also had a black and white wedding and I did white tablecloths with black napkins. Then, in the rooms where we had chair covers (my wedding moved throughout a club with 4 different rooms) I used black chair covers with white sashes. Just my personal preference.
Also, a bit of advice from someone who has planned many weddings. In the past, I have seen linen companies use black linens which are different colors (due to different dye lots OR just having been washed so many times that they are faded and ugly). So be careful which linen company you use and ask them about this. It is REALLY apparent with Black linens and it looks horrible when one table is one color and the table next to it is faded, shabby or a whole different color black.
Good luck and happy Planning!
Okay, for some reason i can't find pics of my room with chair covers...so I found some other pics online just to give you some ideas...
I think black tablclothes always bring a room down and make it feel really small. Just my opinion, but white is always so clean and opens up the room a bit more.

My theme for my wedding is black/white with pops of red which will only come from roses/carnations. I am doing an Old Hollywood feel as well. What color table clothes should I use? Black on black with white sashes or white on white with black sashes or??????? What are your thoughts?
