My FSIL had this a few years back, and it turned out to be chlamydia. Go get checked out.

does it hurt? and is it spotting or full on bleeding? Because i had the mirena too and if its just spotting and doesnt hurt then its just the IUD settling in. BUT if it hurts and bleeds alot then go to the doc and get an ultrasound to check placement, it could have punctured your uterine wall which is unlikely unless you are doubled over in pain or it just needs to be re inserted, and if thats the case, dont let your doc double charge you because that is their fault.

My friend has this problem. She had sex twice and said she bleed like she was on her period. Second time she said it looked like a crime scene. Lol. But she did go to the doctors and the Dr told her to just not have rough sex and have sex on her side. WTH?!?! She then went to see a specialist and they said they didn’t find anything. But it still doesn’t explain why she’s bleeding during sex. We told her to keep going and ask for different test. It’s not normal and it can be anything from a curable infection (sti) to cervical cancer. Hope everything gets resolved. I understand how something like that can interfere with your sex life and take the mood right out of you.

There are many things that can cause bleeding during intercourse, some of them minor, some othem not. Bleeding can be caused by infection, cervical erosion ( an inflamed area on the neck of the uterus), polyps, endometriosis, mucoid cysts etc

I’m glad you stated that you are going to see the doctor in a a couple of days. This is something that deserves follow up.

I’m on the pill and have experienced some light bleeding after sex, on and off, for 9 years. One time turned out to be chlamydia. Besides that, my doctor told me that the hornones in the pill can soften or thin out your cervix, or something like that, and make it more vulnerable to bleed

pinkrose23: Like Jules said, it can have other causes. My FSIL also thought she was monogamous. If it’s consistently happening after sex, then something is irritating your cervix.

Could also be a fibroid. Your doc may be able to diagnose that with an ultrasound (if large enough).

pinkrose23:  Any updates OP from the doctor? How it wasn’t anything serious.

The lining is very thin inside, sometimes trying a new position or a certain speed makes me spot. Also, even though you are on birth control, (I am too) sometimes during a certain time of the month that for a woman not on OCs would be ovulating, would make me bleed a little bit. Can you possibly remember when your last period was, and when you cycled during the month before getting your IUD?

Those forms of BC also have a lissssst of side affects/adverse affects. Look up your BC info, just in case
