D.Marie, I think these are lovely, I just don’t think as many people comment on the boards about the ceremony as they do on dress posts or stuff like that, for some reason.

How old are the kids?  I would run this by them, just to make sure that they are OK with this in the ceremony, too.  I know when my mom married my stepdad, I would have hated if they included wording like yours in the ceremony, but it was just a very touchy situation with me.

I like the idea of including the kids in the ceremony. I am glad that the kids are really into the whole thing.

@D.Marie: Fabulous, then I think it’s great to include them in the vows.  Are you going to have them stand at the front with you?

I really like the bride vows a lot.  I too am blending a family and am looking for ways to include the children.  Ours are 13, 14, 18, and 10.  I am not having bridesmaids I am just having the girls walk with me down the isle.  I am not having my dad give me away since I am grown with children.  Not sure what the Guy will say instead of ” who gives this brides…etc”.

I think there are a lot more of “us” than we know!  good luck and congrats

I agree that it seems important to include the kids in your vows. I think it would mean a lot to the kids to be included. The words you have chosen are eloquent and beautiful for this occasion.
