The more ridiculous the better!

I think it would be awesome and your dad sounds so excited!

I’m sure if you guys got some dance lessons and practiced and maybe planned how were you going to dance to the song, it wouldn’t be bad. I actually think it’s a cool idea, and I wish my dad was as fun as yours, haha he would never do something like this.

I say go for it! Take the lessons, see how you feel-remember, you can always change your mind later. Sounds like fun!

Sometimes people are much better dancers when they have the moves all pre planned for them by a teacher so give it a shot.  Especially if your dad is pumped about it.  If it turns out you suck I’m sure he will know it and will agree that maybe that wasn’t the best plan.

I agree with everything said so far, especially about lessons/practicing beforehand.  Also, would you personally feel embarrassed or are you just worried about others’ reactions?  If you think you and your dad would have fun then I say go for it.  It sounds like it has the potential to be one of those times you always look back on and laugh about, in a good way.

Your dad sounds like he is super excited, and has a plan somewhat in place for executing the dance (contacting a dance teacher is actually pretty prepared!) I would roll with it!

Seriously – you should give it a shot! It will be fun, and even if it is a bit awkward – it will be super memorable!

I say… embrace the ridiculous!  It will be a great bonding experience!  And it’ll get everyone loosened up at the reception, it’ll get them talking and they’ll remember it forever.  No one would expect you to be a pro, but they will see that you have the balls to get out there and try something new!

do it! Imagine how much fun you’ll have. Not to mention how great a memory that will make with your dad. Don’t be afraid..be brave, be ridiculous, as its obvious that you’re already loved…

good luck to you and your dancing-machine dad!!  Wink

I think this would be fun – but you need to feel comfortable with it!

Since my dad has been very hands off about the wedding, and hasn’t really contributed any opinions, I think it is sooooo cute that your dad is this excited about it!!  For that reason alone, I think you should do it.  It’ll make a great memory with your dad! Plus, I think it helps set the tone for a fun evening and breaks the ice for the other guests!
