ok so i am trying to lengthen my ceremony because it is way too short and i want it to be a decent length so its rememerable..So i saw this cute passage where it involves “blessing the hands”.. it talks about how each persons hands symbolizes what and the support it gives for one another and then at the end it says ” god, bless these hands that you see before you this day…” So i have a silly question to ask to those of you who are religious… Does my officiant have to be an ordained minister? The man that is marrying us is certified through the state of california but im not sure how “blessings” go… are they “valid” when done by someone not a member of a church? Or is it just like a prayer at dinner where anyone can do it and its considered “valid”? I hope i dont sound ridiculous to everyone.. We are not religious but i am somewhat spiritual and would like some spiritual significance at my ceremony. Thanks!
