I got my acceptance email from Pengy on the Saturday before Labor Day, probably around noon E.S.T.
I received my first application rejection at around 9:30am on a Thursday, which is 5:30pm on a Wednesday (EST).
Looking forward to hearing back soon about my latest application.
@sloth: oh, MAN, labor day weekend - if responses are being sent then, I guess the no-response zone must be pretty darned small! Thanks for the feedback :)
@Miss Sydney: I hope you get to be a Bee! We need another Aussie to represent!
@Sesame Snap: I missed out, I received my rejection email this morning at 10am AEDST - approx 6pm EST.
So bummed. Im guessing its because we havent done a lot of our specific items yet - we have only really booked stuff, so I will wait until we have more specifics eg invites, favours, etc before I apply again!
@Miss Sydney: I remember reading on some advice board that the best applications have more photos of things you've decided upon versus photos of things you're thinking about. I think Mrs. Octopus said that if the majority of your photos are inspiration, it may be worthwhile to hold off (not that I'm an expert by ANY stretch)! Hope it works out next time around :)
Hi Jill! I'm the one that sends the responses, and to be honest there is no rhyme or reason to time/dates. I just take care of it when I have a spare moment here and there...publishing packs my day up a lot so I try to find chances here and there! :) HTH!
@JillBill: Yes I have heard the same! This month will be quite a few things:
- Invitations ordering
- Wedding rings
- Bridesmaids dresses should arrive
- Choosing our registry items
- Booking our florist
- Ordering our favours
Wow - thats a long list considering it is already the 11th march!
sorry for the threadjack here!!
Sometimes your third time is the charm! It took me two tries to get it right. The first application, I only had a bunch of inspiration stuff, nothing really "fresh" yet. Then I applied a few months later with pretty much my entire wedding plans underway, and got the acceptance! I'd recommend reading the advice posts, and probably beefing up your content. Talk about why you chose the invitations you did, or some great dynamics in your relationship, or how your in-laws are driving you batty. All the stuff you normally post on the boards makes for good blogging content!
It also took me three applications to get accepted. The first time I got rejected, I went through and tried to make my posts more relevant and funny, but got rejected again anyway. After that, I just decided to write for ME (as if I were telling a group of friends what was going on in my life), and I definitely think that helped me define my "voice."
Thanks for the reassurance that re-applying isn't the end of the world. I'm waiting on application #2 and obviously I'm hoping it doesn't go to round 3, but it's nice to know that others have been in similar positions and eventually experienced success!

Just a random little question I have popping around in my head - when did you hear (good news or not) about your Weddingbee application? I'm curious if there are "safe zones," so to speak in the waiting game. For example, is it safe to assume that no one ever gets a response over the weekend because the committee doesn't "work" on evaluating apps over the weekend?
For my first application, I got an email at 2 AM on a Tuesday morning. Let us know when you heard back!
