i go straight for a blog because it shows what people are really like, their personality etc. and it shows recent pictures. sometimes folks don't have time to update their websites and i honestly want to see what you did yesterday not what you did ten years ago.
I liked looking at blogs too. My photographer put one up after we had our engagement pictures done and I love checking it out still! Shows me what he is taking pictures of now.

I am wondering during your search of a photographer, do you go through his/her blog or are you mostly drawn to their portfolio site? -- in other words, do you look down upon a photographer if they didn't have a real website? I know the most famous in the industry (Jessica Claire, Susan Stripling, etc) are all going for blogsites now, but they already have their names established.
When I did my wedding research, I almost always jump straight to a photographer's blog. If there isn't one, then he/she's immediately out, is it the case with you gals too?
