MsGinkgo : that was going to be my next question.. :/ you don’t have labs near you that you can walk into? I’ve never heard of appointments for lab, We can pretty much go anywhere for bloodwork as long as we have the order. I would imagine it’s not as accurate if it’s not done on the correct day of cycle

zoey0317 : There probably are walk in clinics, the appointment one is a new thing here and it’s AMAZING. You’re in and out in under 15 minutes, the old way at the hospital I often waited upwards of an hour or more – when you have to fast, that’s not so fun. I also HATE getting bloodwork done and the nurses at this clinic are incredible, they make it so much more bearable.

MsGinkgo : got it. We just have alot of clinics around here I guess then lol. Because I can name like 6 walk in places I could go to and be in and out in 10 minutes aside from the hospital. They don’t need appointments either. My area is saturated with clinics and doc offices

Unless there was a specific reason to wait on the blood test – I wouldn’t. Have you found out from your GP who ends up dealing with fertility issues in NS – if it’s an OB I’d insist on a referral earlier rather than later. In BC, as long as your referred by your GP to a specialist usually costs are covered for that visit (procedures excluded). Every province is so different though. Good luck!

I think you should definitely get the bloodwork done now. I had some done seven months ago, and even though they figured out some of my problems pretty quickly I still haven’t had luck with the meds working. Getting the first step done ASAP will help you move on to other things sooner. Good luck this cycle!
