Hi Bees! I was just wonderig if any of you have been to a blow dry bar. I am thinking about using one for my wedding. My bridesmaid’s hair will be down so I thought they could get their hair blown out as well. It is super reasonably priced which is awesome too. The one by me also does makeup and will do any other hairstyles in addition to their standard blowouts. They let you choose the music for the salon while your wedding party is getting ready, give you swag bags and provide champagne and apps.
How has your experience been when goingto a blowdry bar? Is it something you have enjoyed? When you have gone to one how long has your hair lasted?

I *almost* did this for my wedding, at Dry Bar. As you pointed out, the price is very reasonable, compared to rated for so-called “wedding hair” from regular hairstylists in a large city. Dry Bar has several down styles, AND they do updos.
I did a test run (just myself), didn’t tell them it was a test run and just scheduled a regular blow-out with curls and they did a great job. In the end, though, I had a friend-of-a-friend who’d just gotten out of hair school who came to our hotel and did each of us for only $35, so we did that.
But Drybar would have been really fun—and they have enough people that they can do you all at once.
Schedule yourself an appointment to check them out!

We don’t have any of these places nearby so I can’t speak from experience but I think it’s a great idea!

I’m thinking about doing this too; there’s one that’s really close to the hotel and is pretty inexpensive ($35 for shampoo + blowdry, I think it’s like $85 for a bridal updo). They do makeup as well, so I think it’s a nice option if you have a lot of girls who want to get done up with you. The place I’m thinking about using will book parties also.

i have friends who have done this and loved the results! i think it would be really fun, and it’s a great way to stay in budget. additionally, these sorts of places are used to quick appointments, so it’s very unlikely that they’ll cause you any delay on your wedding day, which makeup and hair is infamous for doing!

@peonyinlove: Good point about staying on time! I didnt even think about how off track you may possibly get with having one person so all of the bridal parties hair.

I’ve gone to my local Blo bar several times over the past few years for various events, and they always did an amazing job! I’m also considering going the Blo bar route for my wedding… so if anyone has personal experience getting their hair done for their wedding let us know how it went!! 🙂

@Itsallcomingtogether: I went to a Blow Dry Bar for hair and makeup for my boudoir session. I wasn’t super impressed by the updos that were being done there, but for a blow-out or curls it’s a pretty good deal. If there had been one closer to my venue, I might have done that instead of booking a hair stylist/MUA to travel to my venue. Definitely do a trial first though!!
