@TheFutureMrsLamkin: Hey, I'm a Galloway Girl!! Do you have a preference as far as denomination for your church wedding? I can get my thinking cap on. Also, how many people?
Hi!! My fiance is baptist and I'm not religous at all. He's very particular about churches, and will only entertain the idea of presbyterian or methodist. Presbyterian didn't work, no photos allowed and no center aisle :(
I'm waiting to hear back from the methodist church now. We live together and he's divorced. Churches frown apon these things! So, if we can't have our ceremony at the methodist church, I'm done searching. We will have to be married at Blue Heron either outside (weather issues) or in their tent (don't lke it!). And we are only having 100 people invited....so probably 90 will show.
We can't finalize anything without knowing a time for this shindig to start! LOL!
@TheFutureMrsLamkin: That's so wild because I'm Catholic and we weren't given a hard time. Is it a methodist church in Galloway or Absecon. There is an adorable little chapel off Route 30. It's only open a few times a year unless there is a wedding. I can try to find a phone number if you're interested.
REALLY????!!! Interesting.....I guess it really does depend on the pastor. t's a methodist church in Mays Landing right down the street from us. No one has returned my call yet...
I totally know what chapel you're talking about! I used to pass it all the time when I went to Stockton and when I used to work in Galloway. My photographer actually brought it up as well, stating that it woul be a cool church for photos. If you know what the actual name of that church is and a number that would be super! I never saw any cars or activity there, so I didn't think it was still in use.
Ahh boo! Methodist didn't work out either. There's a female reverand there which I don't mind (GIRL POWER!! lol!) but my fiance does. And it was going to be about $600 there as well....yikes!
The search continues!
Thanks! I pretty much have given up on the whole church thing...but maybe, I'll check it out!
You could try St. Paul's UMC in Port Republic. It would be about a 10-minute drive to Blue Heron.
I will check that one out...looks like they have the side aisles....meh
@katielady86:good to know! all the crazy church rules are driving me nuts!

Hey local Bees!
We are having our reception at Blue Heron Pines in galloway and I've been looking for a church for a ceremony, but it might not work out. We can have our ceremony onsite but, it's in November and I'm concerned with the weather for an outside ceremony. It can be in a permanent tent that's set up with sides, but I don't want to be "cheesy." I also have no idea what this would look like when it's set for a ceremony cause it's a mess after this past winter. Does anyone have info about this? Have you been to a ceremony there or have pictures? They had a book filled with photos, but it's missing.
I really just need to see/know that it will look okay....it's not a church, but the end result is the same.
