My fiance and I LOVE bluegrass music. In fact, I once sang lead vocals in a bluegrass band! We decided to play only bluegrass music at our wedding and I am so very excited about it. It fits our theme and our taste and I really think that, while some people might not like it at first, I think it’ll grow on them and everyone is going to have a blast with it.
Is anyone else playing bluegrass at their wedding? Have any song suggestions for me?

We’ll probably be playing some at our reception – we love Old Crow Medicine Show and also like the Travelin’ McCourys, Punch Brothers, Sons of Sylvia, Avett Brothers and Mumford and Sons (the last two are more folky but kind of bluegrassy as well).

We love Old Crow Medicine Show too. We had to include some Yonder Mountain String band as many of their songs are very personal to us. Don’t forget Del McCoury and Earl Scruggs!

I love this! We are having lots of Avett Brothers (one will be our first dance), some Nickel Creek (for the father/daughter son/mother dance), Punch Brothers, Old Crow, as well as some lesser known bluegrass/folk artists.
