Please tell me I’m not the only one?
I woke up to a text message that said my account has been overdrawn and I’m going to have to pay fees! I logged in and checked, sure enough, they have taken out the same amount twice, on two different days!
I rang them up, and apparently I have to speak to my bank first, who don’t open until Monday (it’s Saturday morning here in Australia).
Argghhhhh… I needed my money today! Now I’ll be up for overdrawn fees and it taking weeks for them to refund me, if they do at all!
Has anyone had something similar?

I’ve never had this happen, sorry. Just wanted to wish you good luck and suggest you call the bank. I’m with Westpac and their call centre is open on the weekends. Good luck!

Yes, this has happened to us but it was an insurance payment, while we were on vacation during a long weekend. It was about $500 we had put aside for our weekend trip, and the insurance company accidentally withdrew the payment twice. We didn’t realize it until we arrived in our destination. It almost ruined our entire trip, but we changed our plans to do some free activities, the hotel worked with us, and we ended up having a good time. it got sorted out when we got home (on a business day), the bank reversed the payment and we were refunded the fees charged.
