They advised you wrong. We had Charcoal Tuxes for our wedding. Have you checked Freeman's Formal
We just went to look at tuxes and they had charcoal ones at Friar Tux, I don't know if they have those where you are. My bridesmaids are in navy dresses and we ended up going with black tuxes with charcoal vests/ties and my fiance will have a silver vest/tie. He liked black tuxes better than grey, thought they looked more formal so that's what we went with.
I had the same issue. my bm's will wear navy dresses and i had my heart set on the gray calvin klein tuxes...which they had discontinued when we went in for our appointment.
so, our colors are apple green, navy and silver. the guys will wear black tuxes with silver vests and navy ties. that way, the navy and black don't touch. it made me feel better, silly as it may sound.
I am so lost on my color scheme and bridesmaid dresses too..ugh. I just put up a post needing advice. I was thinking old hollywood, then more organic looking drawing the green from outside the windows in...then it was black and white, then it was greyish purple. Help me people pretty please. I just put up a post with some pictures but I need to order my bridesmaid dresses for our May wedding and I want to cry because I just cant make a darn decision :-(

I never, never, never thought I would be one of those brides agonizing over wedding colors. Well, now I am. :)
I had decided that my BM were going to get navy dresses and the guys would wear dark gray/charcoal tuxes/suits. However, in my intense internet search, I have been unable to find charcoal tuxes. When we went to Men's Wearhouse yesterday, they pretty much told us that no one really has charcoal tuxes, but we could buy suits. I'm leaning away from suits because 1. They're more expensive. 2. I know we could get cheap ones, but then I fear that they will look cheap, because well, they were. 3. Only one of the groomsmen could even wear the suit for work so the others would just be wasting their money.
Enter new color scheme: Instead of navy dresses, the BMs coul wear pewter/steel gray dresses. I could still go with pink and white flowers and work in some greenery that I really wanted from the beginning.
Thoughts? Ideas? Witty comments to keep me from obsessing even more than I already am over wedding colors?
