After the bad day at the dress shop and most of my BM's feeling uncomforatble with the shops ability to come through and measure correctly (trust me it was a mess!) I cancled all the orders and got the money back.

Now we are trying to find a new dress that's not tissue taffita (because of the alteration scares, and the amterial having no "give") that everyone will look "ok" in. Most my maids are a bit "hippy" and stocky. So I want a ball gown and I don't want to be pointing out flaws and leaving someone totally uncomfortable in a dress that makes them feel like shamu.

Davids Bridal offers nothing I like and, we have to have something picked and ordered by the end of Feb. to have the dress intime for alterations and the wedding.

I'm down to the line, and House of Brides and the online places didn't work out for our needs.....

HELP! I don't know how but HELP!

If you have a contact number for the BM Dress Fairy - send her my way!!! I'm not picky, it just has to be black.

Since you're just looking for black, have you tried some of the non-bridesmaid dresses - like JCrew, Ann Taylor, Nordstrom, Macy's, etc...

    Maybe something like this:

    http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2976863/0~2376776~2374327~2374331~6001765~6001774?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6001774&P=1

You can order and return for free if they don't like it.  We ordered dresses from Nordstrom and no one needs alterations at all.  Just a thought.  Good luck!

We also got BM dresses from Nordstrom for my sister's wedding.  Exchanges are free for different sizes, although returns are really $5.00 (feels free as they send a postpaid label, but they subtract that $5.00 from your refund).  But, if you have a Nordstrom there, and they don't have the size or even the dress you want, they will have it shipped to you for free.

For my wedding we are going with Ann Taylor, since they are my sister's absolute fave and everything comes in petite (she is a little shorter than me).

    try these:

both of these companies are typically under $200.  I attempted to go with something from either of them, I had almost had the one you picked from bill levkoff too, but my bm's could not agree...anyway, there are a lot of similar dresses with either of these companies.  I know you are trying to keep the prices down.  Jordan also has an extensive younger girls section.  Oh, and I tried a lot of the strapless a-line gowns on, and I am a 14, and they all looked pretty good!
