OMG I don't even know where to start!!! I loveeeeeeeeeeee that patterned dress! It would be so different and amazing! How many BMs? Might not be overkill with 2 or 3, but may be too much with like 6 or 7 in a row. Or maybe you could have half in a similar solid black dress and half in the patterned one to break it up a little? Or like you say, line them up guy, girl. You HAVE to get that dress!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make it work! haha
I'm not a fan of the pattern, but I LOVE the purple dress. It's adorable. I do think patterned dresses can make for cute BM dresses.
The patterned one is pretty, but if you have more than one girl it may look even more matchy-matchy than the purple ones. In my head, having three sets of pattern next to each other is just more strikingly similar.
I vote for the pretty purple! And it'll look so nice in the pictures....
I really love the patterned dress & totally think you should go with that one. I would sooooo wear that again after the wedding!
I like the purple one but I LOVE the patterned one. It's so refreshing and just perfect for a spring garden wedding. If you are having many BMs, then I really like honeybun's suggestion -- have a few in the patterned dress and a few in solid black with similar styling (with a sash in one of the colors in the pattern). So cute! Oh, and I would keep their bouquets extremely simple (all one flower in the same color as the sash).
I'm with honeybun if you have more than 2 or 3 BMs - that patterned dress is TOO AMAZING to pass up! I think it would look great to have some in the patterned and some in a solid black dress!
Heh - I'm biased. I told my bridesmaids to "pick a purple dress" and the one you have pictured was one of my examples :)
I cold be totally off here but I'm thinking the patterned and the purple dress kinda go together, no? I mean there is that shade of purple in the patterned dress and they both have that floral factor to them...I'm think BOTH!? Have your MOH wear the pattern and the rest in the solids. Best of both worlds, plus you don't run the risk of being too matchy
I love the purple dress. Very pretty. I think the patterned dress might be too much when you get a few people in it standing together.
Perhaps more information is needed. My attendants are my 2 brothers and my sister, and his attendants are his brother, sister, and their spouses. So, regardless of the dress, no girls will be next to each other - maybe this makes the patterned one a bit more appealing? I just keep thinking of how lovely it would look in between two tuxes!
@ Sanddollar - I like where you're heading with this! Maybe I could just show them the two dresses and say "pick one." :)
Ok so if I'm reading this right there are 3 girls total?
so your side is: brother, sister, brother
and his: brother, wife, husband, sister
or something like that?
Then I don't think the pattern would be too bad. I mean you only have 3 girls and like you said no one would be beside eachother. I understand where your coming from. I agree it would look neat between tuxes. I still can't decide if 3 of the same patterned dress is still a little much even if they aren't right beside eachother. Maybe do what you suggested in your last post and let the girls pick between the two dresses...that way you could end up with a nice mix of both and they still had a say?! Great dresses tho and I like mixing the sides with family
I have the patterned Anthro dress! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I just wore it to a wedding reception, and got all kinds of compliments. The tulle underneath made me feel like a princess. I wore it with a navy cardi and black Kate Spade heels, but you could easily dress it up with satin heels and a pashmina or nothing else.
By the way, the dress comes with teeny tiny straps you can attach. I wore it strapless but it's nice to have the option.
That patterned dress is SOOO cool, completely different and gorgeous. The purple one is pretty too but the patterned one is really unique. Love it!
i reallllly looove the purple dress. let me guess, is it from anthropologie? i was in the store yesterday and saw it there..was sooo tempted to buy it..it's great cuz they could use it again..i'm totally for it..
I voted for the patterned dress, it really is different and beautiful and I've seen some pictures lately of patterned bridesmaid's dresses on Snippet and Ink that made me really like the idea...Plus, they will totally be able to wear it again...I say go for the patterned one!
I think if there are only 3 girls who will be wearing it, go for the patterned dress and space them out so they're not standing next to each other. It'll look amazing, methinks.
I have a friend who wore the patterened dress to a wedding and it looked great. I think with the way it works out in the line up it will look really lovely.
I love the pattern dress.... its stunning.. (where can i get one? .. For myself not for bridesmaid) ❤ would be a great party dress!
If the patterned one is your style and your girls' style, I would go for it! It's so unique and would be pretty in person and in pictures. It's not my style, so I voted for the second one. I'd probably re-wear it all the time!
@chocolatekisses - they're at Anthro! Mine was pretty expensive about a month ago, but maybe you can catch it on sale?
LOVE them both! I'm a total sucker for purple too, but think that patterned dress is just awesome. (Great taste, babes ;-)
If you love the patterned one, I say go for it! I think since you're not going to have two girls side by side, the pattern will be a great way to break up the solid look of whatever the guys are wearing!

I have lovely bridesmaids, but they won't tell me their dang opinions! I don't have strong feelings about their dresses, so I've been asking them, and they keep telling me that they'll wear whatever I want. It's hard to complain about that, but it's the classical dilimma of when no one cares, how do you make the decision?
Enter Weddingbee. The patterned dress is one that I love, personally, but I'm (and my FI) not too sure about how it would look all lined up. The purple one is pretty, but I was kind of leaning away from the uniformity/solid color thing, so I'm hesitant to go back to this. Both dresses are from anthropologie.com.
Our siblings are our attendants, and I think we'll have them lined up girl, boy, girl, boy, so the patterned dresses don't need to be next to one another...
Edit:We're having a spring, late afternoon, garden wedding.
