OH man...I feel your pain. I'm a 38 E/F and that dress, while beautiful, would give me nightmares.
I think that you have a couple of options:
1) Stickies- I HAVE had success with these, but you really need to spend the moola in order to get decent ones http://www.nubra.net/
2) Maybe something like this would work? http://www.starduststraplessbras.com/strapless-backless-bras.html?p=2
You could get something that is strapless AND backless! There is actually a slip (fully BONED) that could work with that dress that is on this link
Is there boning in the front of the dress? If there is (and even if there isn't), find yourself a good seamstress and see if they can make the shoulders tight enough that you could go with just some supportive stickies or braless. I was able to not wear a bra at my wedding...because I was open to suggestions from my seamstress. Can you alter the dress in any way to make it more easily wearable?
youre gonna have to go with stickies or somethin! lol you cant go braless?? this dress is GORG!
Honestly, if the bride is asking you to wear something like that, I'd ask her where she planned on having you buy the undergarments. If she has no idea where, she's being thoughtless and needs to realize it. That type of dress is gorgeous, but doesn't work for anyone beyond a B cup.
There's a great custom bra maker in my area that is affordable. Could you possibly find one of those? The down side is your dealing out more cash and it's not even for your own wedding... I feel your pain though because I am a D and I have so much trouble with dresses and bras!
good luck!
Last year, we had to find one of my stepdaughters a special bra with an open back and a somewhat lower front to wear with a dress she had for an event. After searching just about everywhere in our area, we finally found one at Macy's that can be worn -- believe it or not -- 35 different ways! It solved the problem. Perhaps you would be able to find one there.
There are these stick on things. A quick look has only turned up ones that go up to a D cup but I know larger sizes exist because I used them for my formal, and I'm an E cup. They work really well but I don't know how they'd go with such a plunging neckline.

The only way that this could work for you with that dress is with something stick-on like stickies or these "Bring it Ups" and then you'd have to have a little extra fabric in the chest area to disguise your support with hollywood tape. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable wearing that. From one well-endowed girl to another, I really feel for you here. I'd be paranoid I'd have a wardrobe malfunction the entire time.
Quick responses to some posts:
Thanks everybody!!!
Do a search for "low back bra." Look for something that fastens at the waist and has boning.
If that fails, I don't know what to suggest.
I've had a lot of success wearing this under low-backed dress. To wear it with this one you'd have to alter the straps a bit, but it's simple enough to do.

This is really hard. Have you spoken with the bride? Maybe she can suggest an alternative -- either in terms of a bra or in terms of a dress.
Is there a "sister" size for your normal bra size? The salesladies at Victoria's Not-So-Secret keep telling me that 34A or 32B should both work for me.
I think if you can find a backless longline bra in the right size, it should work with that dress.

oh man not cool. its a gorgeous dress, but your friend has to keep in mind your boobies!!!
one of my bridesmaids has big ones and i made sure i cleared the dress with her!!
i think your friend should finance the purchase of some crazy backless bra for you. best of luck!!
Wow, gorgeours dress. I like it very much especially the back, perfect!!!
I think you need some stickies, but I agree with others. Though it is beautiful, but the bride and bridegroom should find one dress suits you. Telll them your problem and get advice.
One other thing. Before you talk to the bride, make sure you've at least tried a few options so that you can say truthfully that you're having problems finding a bra (assuming that nothing you try works, that is). You don't want to come across the wrong way.
I had this exact situation several months ago.
In short, you're screwed
Based on my experience, I doubt that you'll be able to find bra, or, if you do, you're going to be constantly worrying about it showing.
Your best bet would be an adhesive bra, but I kinda doubt that it would give you the support you need.
If someone has actually solved this problem, I would like to know too!
Putting cups in the dress would be best. BTW, my friend saw the picture of your dress and wanna know would you mind telling where it is from. She would love it as an engagement dress. Should she buy it online?
I've had bras from victoria's secret that had an "attachment" to go along with the bra. Aside from the straps being removable or to change to a halter top, it also had a strap that you hooked to the clasp on the back and wrapped it around your front around your waist and hooked it together. It pulled the back of the bra down and it was comfortable. Hopefully that was a decent description.
They actually do have bras that are for dresses JUST like this! The straps cross on the back and can be adjusted to be the placement you want them to be. :)
@carolinaw: The dress is Jim Hjelm 5884. Doing a search, you can buy it online, but it is apparently being discontinued at the end of January!
I have nowhere near the boobies, but I've heard that it's somewhat common in pageants to actually tape your boobs up. With straight up duct tape. Obviously a last resort, but if it's coming from gals that Vaseline their teeth and have tape/glue on their butt to keep their swimsuits from shifting, it'd maybe be worth a shot.
I think before I got to the point of taping my boobs, though, I'd talk to the bride. She has to understand that this is a darn near impossible request for a larger-chested woman.
eta- ehow knows everything. I give you "how to tape your breasts." For those playing at home, ALWAYS cover your nipples with breast petals or bandaids first. Lord have mercy on those that don't. Ouch!
I havent had this problem, but a friend did. Low back dress for her sister's wedding. She used a bra like the Victoria's Secret one that @hyena suggested and it worked. Maybe try that ? And let us know how it goes :)
ETA ohhh Duct tape ! Its actually a good idea !
I think the problem with the VS bra is that, if I were to wear the bra in the the low back halter style, the bra strap would show around the neck. It's not a halter-style dress!
This VS bra does the criss-cross around the front thing, but the side straps are long enough to criss-cross them in the back too, so that you don't have to do the halter. In the link, the third picture (scroll down until you get to the pink one), shows the side straps attached in the back, but you can unhook them and cross them. I just went into my bathroom and tried it with my own bra. I took a picture, but it's awful, so I'll save you from that, lol :)

eta: The only thing is if you even have a few ounces of tummy/ribcage fat, the strap makes enough of a tummy bulge that I personally would need a light waist-cincher (think spanx). You might too.
@insanityisme: thanks very much. My friend will be very happy. Hope you work out your problem.
This is just my opinion, but I don't think that any bra with straps will work with that dress.
As far as I can tell from the photos, there is a fabric "twist" at the criss-cross point in the back. That means that a diagonal bra strap is likely to peek out at some point.
The bra might also show on the lower back. It's cutting it really close, it looks like.
In ther words, even if you can "fix it" to not show, you'll probably be worried about it all night!
If you don't take my advice, at the very LEAST, do a test run.
I am special ordering a bra that is very similar to the VS bra. I'm not certain that it will work, but it seems like I need to try it.
I appreciate all the help and would welcome any other suggestions, just in case this doesn't work out.
Try a nubra - a sticky backless bra that lifts.

Hi ladies,
I'm not a bride (yet), but I found this site when searching for bras for a plunging V-neck, open criss-cross back bridesmaid dress I've been assigned to wear at a friend's wedding. (I know, I know, not my first choice) A strapless bra is NOT going to work with the back of the dress, but I'm a 34DD & need boost!
I'm not sure exactly how to describe the back of the dress, so I'll post pictures below. (btw it's the airbrushed model, not me, just to clear up any confusion!!)
This seems like a great site & I appreciate any assistance!
