Well I don't think the picture is that great, but from what I can see I think your cheapness fear may be valid.
How much did you pay for them? Can you return them?
I do think you are on the right track with pearls. They are very classic and their luster can reflect whatever color they are near (ie brown dresses).
Perhaps there is something real- like freshwater pearls that are in the same price range that you can get?
I got my sister a ring and pendant from this Etsy seller and was REALLY happy with the result- no cheap looking at all. And she has a variety of colored pearls, so you might be able to coordinate.

Hope this helps!
Maybe something like this?
I think that the jewerly is in the right direction but I can see how you can be concerned. I already purchased my bm jewelry for my wedding and I highly reccomend www.mellabaeds.com. The jewelry is all custom made to create the prefect jewerly, and I thought the pricing was very reasonable and the quality is great; I have included some of the designs from the site as examples.
I like them!!
And I don't think anyone is really gonna notice that they are cheap, no one will be close enough to their necks to really tell, and I think from the distance that will be between your bridesmaids and guest they will be beautiful, not to mention in photos!
I ended up returning them. I bought them at Claire's for $10 each. Thanks for the advice, I'll be looking online now because I can't find ANYTHING in stores.
I got three sets, and they are so pretty! Excellent seller also! Mygirls and I loved the jewelry!.
You can change the pearl to different colors. Just contact the seller and she will get it taken care of.

What are your thoughts on this one? Remember, with a dark brown dress. I love pearls, and this pearl has a brownish tint.
I'm not wild about it, but I think that's a matter of personal taste. I'd prefer one of these:

The same necklace comes in sweet pea, red, blue etc. Depending on your secondary colors, i think any of those would look great with brown, and you could eve get them each something slightly different. It's $17, so a little more than what you were looking at, but you might be able to contact the seller about purchasing multiple necklaces.

Good Luck!
OOOO I love what RosyChicklet posted!!! Gorgeous. I went with bracelets since the neckline on my bm dresses are a little high. I'm thinking about telling them all to wear pearls though. Hmmm

I had gotten my bridesmaids a necklace from Claire's. I loved them at the time but now I don't know that they'll match with a chocolate brown dress. I also think they're looking a little cheap now. What do you HONESTLY think?
