My BM are wearing navy blue dresses from J Crew… I told them they can pick whatever style shoes they want as long as they’re the same color. Now some of the girls want to wear nude shoes and others want to wear bronze… do you think these two colors would look okay together or should I insist they all wear the same color still? I really don’t care but the dresses are knee length and my DF keeps saying he doesn’t want people to notice their shoes… thoughts?

I ran into this too. I have eight bridesmaids, and they are wearing cocktail length Dessy dresses (each girl is wearing a different style, but all same length/color). At first I thought I would have them all in the same shoe, but my bridesmaids are all over the board– I have sisters who are short and sisters who are almost 6 feet tall, and girls who range from 21 to my sister who is 33. I didn’t want them all to spend $40+ on shoes they hate. So I just told them to get shoes in light silver/gray (no metallic-y silver though) and to have fun! At the end of the day, I want them to feel comfortable and beautiful. And I think people will appreciate the unique-ness (at least, I hope!)
Unless you really want a matchy-matchy look (that can look great too), I would say let them pick their own shoes in the same color palette if it matches their dress. Just my opinion 🙂
