We’ve been having a hell of a time finding the perfect BM dress. We know the style we want, but we cannot find a perfect dress in the perfect purple in our $50 budget.
I was browsing Forever21 and came across these two dresses. They’re the style we’re wanting, and the prices are fabulous. But they only come in black. Black is nowhere in my color scheme, which is shades of purples, blues, and white.
I could always colorize their accessories. The boys are going to be in aqua colored button downs and black pants.
What do you guys think? Would black just look out of place?
Dress 2 (my favorite)
And on the subject of Forever21, has anyone ever ordered from them and had to return something? How is the return policy?

@allyfally: I think black dresses are fine. I prefer dress 2 also.
I am sure you are aware that it is a plus size dress.
Like most companies, their return policy is on their websie:

My sister (my MOH – the only one in my wedding party on my side) is wearing black too. I actually like #1 more but it really depends on your wedding as a whole. Forever 21 stuff runs SUPER small and everything is shorter then heck – might be something to keep in mind.

@allyfally: we are also doing black BM dresses…ive been to several weddings where there have been BMs in black…and i think it looks really nice….were are giving ours some accents in red, maybe you could do that….get some purple accessories, like braclets and hair pieces….itll look great!

@julies1949: Yes, they are plus size dresses because my BMs are plus size.
I tend to rely on first hand experiences on return policies. I’ve had been experiences in the past with other brands.
@rdevaney: Thanks, thats good to know about them running small. Both of my girls are under 5’2,” so I’m not worried about the shortness. 😛

@allyfally: I loved wearing black as a BM. So much so, that my girls are wearing black as well, with a lace overlay on the bodice. Black is flattering, photographs nicely, and everyone feels pretty good in it.

My girls were in black and they looked wonderful. But it was one of the colors of the wedding. However, it made the purple flowers they were holding “pop” in all the pictures.

@allyfally: I also live in Louisville, and I have returned stuff I ordered online to the store with no problem.

@allyfally: I like dress number 2 as well. I think black is fine, my bridesmaids will probably be in black as we are having a winter wedding and I don’t want it to look like christmas. And, if you have bridesmaids that all have different body styles, black normally looks great on everyone!

I actually tried on dress two, and it didn’t even cover my lady parts, but then again I am 5,7 and not 5,2

@allyfally: Accesorizing them would be a good idea. I’ve returned items to the store that I bought online and they only gave me a store credit. Not sure about their other policies.

@alleycat1984: Haha, well thats not good! Do you have a long torso? In the description it says that the model is 5’10” and its only a couple inches higher than her knees.

@emstar168: Ooh, I completely forgot we had one here. Its a bit out of the way, but we could probably go there at some point and try it on in person instead of ordering it.
