i would go to the Bobbi Brown counter, get makeup done by someone you've seen do makeup on someone else and see if you like their technique. By the way...Nordstroms and Macy's are having their Fall Fashion/Cosmetic Trends shows around this time of the year...would definitely go to those to find the best of the best for the artists! I just went to the Brea one this past weekend and their were sooo many celebrity makeup artists there it was to die for!
I think contrarymary is right. I'd try hitting your local Bobbi Brown counter and talking to the MUA there. Usually you can at least schedule a trial, so that you can see how the look would work for you on your wedding day.

Hi! I'm in San Diego too and I've been on the look out for a makeup artist who uses Bobbi Brown/technique. I'm tempted to ask the Bobbi Brown makeup counter if they do freelance work and do a run through with them first if they do. Good luck! I hope we both find what we're looking for.
