I know I’m not the only one here with a body hangup…
You know that part of your body between your belly button and your pubic bone? That area on me is ALWAYS puffy and bloated, partly in thanks to my endometriosis, and partly because I’m a bit lazy and don’t always work out the way I ought to.
With the wedding FAST approaching, I find myself obsessing about this area even more than I used to before (trust me, that’s a lot of obsessing) and it’s freaking me out. I’m scared that I will look puffy and gross on this super-important day.
NWR, I just hate it. I’m so tired of feeling generally good about myself (I have about 5 pounds left to go) except for this area. It totally stresses me out. I feel like everyone else has this flat area, and I don’t. My *stomach* is quite flat, but this part just blurps out. Ugh.
Ok bees, share with me – what are your crazy body hangups??

Oh gosh. I could go on for days. 😛 Whenever I put on weight (like the slightest of pounds), it all goes to my stomach, and my arms/shoulders. I feel like I have the most monstrous arms in the world. So gross. But at the end of the day, I’m sure we all look just fine and we are our own worst critic! 😀

Arms. Whenever I see a picture of myself from the side I can’t believe how HUGE my arms look! I’m turning into a pushup maniac, lately. Argh.

I’m wide. I’m thin, but when you look at me front on – I’m wide across. From the side, I look a lot, lot slimmer. I wish I was narrower!
Oh and one of my ears sticks out more than the other

I have cellulite on the sides of my thighs that I cannot get rid of. Also my underarms are flabby no matter how many tricep exercises I do. Oh and anytime I put on weight it goes straight to my face.

Oh my…women, amirite? I have so many. Especially right under my mouth on either side I have two dark splotches. I am constantly trying to cover them up with makeup, and I reapply often. I was SO worried it would be noticeable in all of my wedding pics, but thank goodness for airbrush makeup!
Also, my hair is hideous 90% of the time, and I am afraid I am going bald.

I’m having some trouble with my post baby body. I know it just takes time, and that when I have a chance to put more effort into working out more consistently I will feel better and probably look better too. Mostly it’s just my midsection. I’m just… wider. Not as firm. Oh well, I’m just going to have to work at it for a while 🙂

Could you wear some sort of shapewear for your wedding?
I think we all have body hangups, though. My stomach isn’t the best, and that’s my biggest concern for my wedding.

I hate my hips and thighs! I definitely have saddlebags going on when I look straight in the mirror and I hate it!

I have that “dip” too. It used to be viewed as a sign of fertility, and thus it was deemed very sexy.
But if you really hate it, there are undergarmets that will mask it, such as a cincher.

most days i think i look like a potato with eyes and a mouth. I was really thin in HS but of course all my friends were EVEN THINNER so I have basically had the “i’m the most gigantic whale of a potato looking human everrr” mindset forever. But now I’d kill to have my 18 year old bod back!! I’ve been losing weight but it’s so hard and am so scared I’ll never be thin enough again!!

@LGenz: i also have cellulite on my thighs that looks hideous. underarm flab? check. im 27 and should be way firmer. but for years my weight has yo yoed. as a pre teen i was huge. i then dropped a ton of weight. my skin has awful elasticity so the underarm thing has been an issue for over 10 years 🙁

@CorvusCorax: LOL the dip as a sign of fertility – I’ll take it! I’m on the lookout for a good pair of spanx that will be low enough not to show under my dress, but high enough to give me support where I need it most. I love love love that my FH thinks I’m beautiful and sexy, because I definitely don’t! Ha!

I have the “dip” going on too. My upper abs are actually starting to get defined, but the little pooch under my belly button won’t go away! And I have some loose skin right at the top of my thighs. I’m not sure if it will ever go away, I think that it got stretched out when I was heavy, and it doesn’t appear to want to shrink back. Other than that, I’m pretty happy with my body. I used to be very self concious because I have very broad hips and a big butt, but my boyfriend loves them so I’ve started to love them too.
