I use an inexpensive product from De-luxe that is available in several scents: http://www.drugstore.com/qxp94246_333181_sespider/de_luxe/bain_foaming_body_scrub_verbena.htm

My ultimate favorite was a product called Liquid Loofah by Bare Escentuals, but I don’t know if they make it anymore.

For a more luxury product, check out the body scrubs by Origins– several different types.  I also love the Have a Nice Day facial scrub.

Try these!!  I’m an absolute bath and body whore,   and I’m totally addicted to non-commericial/etailer scrubs.  Mad City Sue has a couple of kinds – moisturizing scrubs and foaming scrubs.  Theyre made with sugar, which dissolves obviously and shouldnt irritate or scratch your skin.  AND the best part is her immense scent list…. Just click on her profile, and you can customize your scrubs as much as you like!!

If that doesnt tempt you, I dont know what will!

I’m guessing you want a fine grain exfoliant then?

If you’re a poor kid, you can mix honey and sugar and rub it all over yourself in the shower.

Otherwise I have no recommendations b/c i use heavier exfoliants. Have you tried using your basic non-irritating shower gel and using a loofah though? I like oatmeal soaps, too. I’ve used heavy duty salt scrubs, just don’t be an idiot like me and shave first or your legs will be on fire.

I like Carol’s Daughter products. Natural, smell pretty, delish, at Sephora.

Oooo i’m excited about that Etsy seller. I’m such a Scent Skank. If it smells good i gotta have it. I imagine it’s a huge turn on for my FI even if it really just is for me =]

I’m very picky about the texture & size of grains in my scrubs… and I’ll be honest – I work for Bath & Body Works, so I see no reason to really go anywhere else for my body products.  My recommendations are based solely on my playing around with different products while at work!

I love love love the new True Blue Spa Naked In the Buff body polish – I consider it more a buffer than a scrub.  The particles are smaller and very uniform and gentle.  I also really like the new Signature Collection scrubs. It has sugar crystals as well as jojoba & avocado oils, so it’s moisturizing (and the crystals aren’t as abrasive as some other scrubs I’ve tried.   Another one you could try is the C.O.Bigelow lemon-pomegranate body scrub – it’s creamy & not too harsh.

Ultimately, my recommendation is this – try it before you buy it.  That’s part of the reason I started shopping at BBW (before I started working for the company).  You can try just about any product they carry right in the store.  Good luck in your search!

ahhhh I’ve tried so many etailers… I have a bathroom FULL of cake/frosting/baked goods/fruit/candy scented stuff.  For some reason my FI likes me to smell of Rhubarb Pie!

On etsy theres also http://cozymoments.etsy.com  who has scrubs which are pretty much the same as Mad City Sue, but less scent choices, and no customizing.

As for other etailers – theres http://www.craterlakecompany.com  and  http://cleanseyoursoul.com  and  http://bathedandinfused.com

and my FAVORITE Canadian bath and body etailer is http://skindecent.com  but I hear that http://cherriflip.com  is pretty awesome too.

Basically since discovering etailers I totally quit using commercialy produced stuff.  And I smell FABULOUS.   Enjoy browsing, and hide your credit cards!!

Have you thought about making your own?  It’s very inexpensive and easy to customize.  I start off with a base of sugar, add jojoba oil and/or aloe vera to soothe, and a few drops of lavender oil (or whatever you prefer) for fragrance.

I used Headshed  http://www.headblade.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=HB&Product_Code=10300-6&Category_Code=headcare

I really like it for all over body…especially to efolitate the bikini area before and after waxing, but it might be too hard for your skin. It actually is in some pretty mild lotion but has like 100 times more walnut shell than any other product. However, it does contain a coconut oil which is nice and softening.

http://www.kiehls.com/_us/_en/face/scrubs/pineapple-papaya-facial-scrub.htm

It sounds like you need something pretty gentle. I love the pineapple-papaya scrub from Kiehls it is very gentle and I actually notice that it kind of "chemically" exfoliates my skin. That is it doesn’t just scrub everything away which might be what is bothering your skin.

The recommendation about a DIY scrub is great. A little sugar and then start mixing your own oils, Almond is a common oil but olive or lavender are good too.

I just make my own. Equal parts of sugar and oil (I use almond). Brown sugar is coarse, white sugar is finer and it is possible to get extra fine sugar. I add a bit of vanilla extract for smell, but essential oils work too. I love how it makes my skin silky soft.
