I just picked up the Martha Stewart bone folder for a little under $5 (thank you 40% off coupon!)

Um, why are people not spreading the news about this fantastic little tool?? I'm a new crafter & never knew this existed. I LOVE IT & have come up with a gazillion uses for it just on my ride home!

If there was one crafting tool you couldn't live without- what would it be??

Paper cutter, actually. It's so very basic, but I can't cut a straight line to save my life!

That's my second choice, followed by my round corner punch & adhesive tape lol.

If I had one, I'd imagine that a crisscut would be AWESOME! Of course I'm a sucker for paper cutouts in any capacity so...

ahh thanks for reminding me! I've been meaning to pick up a bone folder for awhile now. I agree that the corner rounder is definitely on my list. I'm really a big fan of rubber cement - I love that if I place something in the wrong place, I can peel it off before it dries and rub off the excess glue. Haha, and I really like "painting" it on.

@melodic: it's WONDERFUL!!! it is sort of like a more sophisticated glue stick... but you have to be careful not to put too much on and to wipe the excess off.

I love my bone folder!  I picked one up when I was making the pockets for our hallowedding invitations.  They really make your folds look professional!

I'm absolutely loving my cricut atm.  I know it's more of a gadget than a tool, but I'm trying to find a use for it for eeeverything!

A bone folder is used to score your paper to create a professional looking crease. Your fold is so crisp... you could never achieve the same look by just using your hands. It makes folding a quicker & easier process :) Just grab your ruler, run the BF across the paper & fold!

If you're lining your envelopes it will help ensure that your envelopes will still have a crisp fold vs a "bulky" one...

Bone folders are fantastic, but TEFLON folders are really the way to go!! They don't burnish your paper or smear ink. FANTASTIC!!

Bone scorers are fantastic. I have done a lot of large-scale paper sculptures in the past, and they're essential. :p

I own many - all different shapes, different sizes. They are great for so many things!! Ah the joys of being an artist and designer.  I definitely recommend them to everyone!!

I really thought I could get away with running my nail down every fold...but it sounds like a bone folder is a worthy investment!  Thanks for sharing.  Now I know what to use this week's Michael's coupon on. : )

I love my "bone" folder! I picked mine up at the local artist supply store in a beautiful hard wood for $1.80! It works just as well as my friends bone folder, but my wooden one is more pleasing to look at (for me anyhow).

I am finding I cannot live without a self-healing cutting mat, scissors, and my bone folder. Unless a printer counts as a tool and not machine...cause I can't live without that either!
