I just finished The Time Traveler's Wife-it's a great book. And of course, any of the Twilight or Harry Potter books. It took me forever to get into the first Harry Potter book. I picked it up and tried to read it and I barely made it 50 pages. I picked it up a year later and forced myself through it and I was hooked!
My list so far has "The Road." I might dig up some of what I like to call my "vacation" reading like the Shopaholic series.
ANYTHING by Phillipa Gregory, the woman who wrote The Other Boleyn Girl. They're all fabulous and addicting. So hard to put down and there's so much scandal and plotting and drama, you can't turn away
i love gabriel garcia marquez and "love in the time of cholera" is one of my fave books ever! i also enjoyed "eat, pray, love." it's an easy read and i love travel, so it was nice to sort of "go along" with the author as she traveled through italy, india and bali. have you read the shopahloic series or anything by sophia kinsella? those are always fun "beach reads" for me. there's so much more out there (i heart reading too!), but you'd probably want to do other stuff on your honeymoon too....lol.
I love the Southern Vampire Series/Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris. Also, Chelsea Handler's books (Are You There Vodka? It's Me Chelsea and My Horizontal Life) are raunchy but extremely hilarious. Great beach reads.
If you want some "easy" reads, Jen Lancaster has a few memoirs out that are seriously Laugh Out Loud funny. So far I've read "Bitter is the New Black" (her first book) and "Bright Lights, Big Ass" (her 2nd book.) I'm on her 3rd right now, titled "Such a Pretty Fat" which is about her struggle with weight loss. Hilarious. During the first book I would make my FI so mad because I would just laugh hysterically while he was trying to sleep. She's really sarcastic and kind of abrasive, so if you aren't into um...bitchy-ness, she might not be the right author for you. But I love it :) And yay for nearing the honeymoon!!
Those sound fun. I have read Harry Potter, Twilight series and the Sophia Kinsella books. Although I think there are still a few I haven't read.
Some of these other ones sound really good too. I think a combiniation of some drama and funny would be good depending on what I feel like.
If you liked Twilight, I also recommend the Sookie Stackhouse series (the novels which True Blood is based on). Really light reading, but I can't put the books down.
I'm with <span style="font-size: x-small; color: #81a026;">ejs4y8. Philippa Gregory is an awesome writer! If you want a shorter novel (b/c her novels can be a bit large) I would recommend Katherine. It's really really good! :)
I picked up the "Little Book" by Shelden Edwards at the airport as we were leaving. It was a lovely honeymoon read!

I always love finding books that are somehow related to where I am travelling! Where are you going on your honeymoon?
With that in mind, any good books taking place in Australia?
If you like young adult fiction, I highly reccomend The Mysterious Benedict Society. I just finished the first book and started the second today!
If you like sci-fi/fantasy, check out The Mortal Instruments series.
The Sookie Stackhouse books are really fun. I just finished reading the ones that are out. Good guilty pleasure!
Another book that I just finished was My Sister's Keeper. It's fantastic. I cried for about 45 minutes at the end of it. :p
AAAnd my alltime favorite book is The Time Traveler's Wife. Love, love.
For anyone who is a Dan Brown fan (Angels & Demons, and DaVinci Code) I'd recommend anything by Steve Berry or James Rollins. For those who want more of a "girly" read, Jodi Piccoult has a bunch of great books (author of My Sisters Keeper).
I liked Eat Pray Love, but I actually wouldn't recommend it on your honeymoon because a lot of it, especially at the beginning, is about the author's divorce! Not great for post-wedding bliss, unless you want a good dose of reality right away.
Bill Bryson has written a lot of funny travel books that are good beach reads. My Life in France by Julia Child would be great for a honeymoon. It's her memoir and mostly focuses on the early years of her marriage and her time living in Paris and learning to cook. It's funny and interesting, and there is a lot in there about her relationship with her husband, which is really sweet.
Also, Summer Sisters by Judy Blume is a great beach read.
Well I certainly did not have time to read on my honeymoon but the last time I did take a book to read at the beach it was a biochemistry book! LOL
Ditto not reading eat love pray.
I hated it. Granted, I listened to it on tape (read by the author) and the author just came across kinda whiny for the most part. I gave up on it after her Italy trip and her India trip. I just got tired of it =]. But so far, I'm the only one who disliked it (okay and my MIL)
If you like romance/drama/timetraveling (no really!) then def. check out Jude Deveraux! I love "Legend" and "Summerhouse" is also nice.
I just read "The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks and it was really good!
I'm almost through with Julie and Julia (the movie version just came out). It would be a good beach read, especially if you like sarcasm and/or reading about food. She tends to curse a lot though, so you might want to stay away if that's a turn off.
Oh, and another good read is Heat -- it's about a guy who decides he wants to become a sous chef for Mario Batali. It made me want to eat a lot of pasta!
Lastly, likewise on The Time Traveler's Wife. It's one of my all-time favorite books, and it's very romantic.
I love reading anything by Rosamunde Pilcher or Maeve Binchy. Some of the titles I find myself reading over and over again are The Shell Seekers, Tara Road, Light a Penny Candle, and The Scarlet Feather. :)
@ejs: you missed the best part. but, i hear ya....most people i know either hated it or loved it. i've also heard the complaint about her being too whiny. regardless, i think she (the author) turned a horrible experience (her divorce) into something insightful and positive (there's alot of positives throughout the book----especially the end)....so much so that it's now being made into a movie starring non other than julia roberts as her.....even if you're not a fan of julia, how cool is that anyway, to have a major movie star playing you on the big screen?

I can not wait to be on the honeymoon relaxing and having nothing to do. I'm a big reader and know I want to read while sitting on the beach, but have no idea what to read.
What is your favorite book? Any new ones out that I should go get?
