SO cool! I want to use books for ours, too. I’ve been asking my friends and family what their favorite books are, so that i can look for hardcover copies of them to use! I was thinking about using the old libarary book check-out cards as seating cards or as part of the invitations. I don’t want to overdo (overdue…haha) it, though, since books are more my thing than they are FI’s.

@RheannaRaye:  omg I love it! And I super love the card catalog idea! That’s amazing! Are either of you librarians? I’m in school for library science right now (archives concentration) so this is totally up my alley!

@pineapplez17:  No, just love books!

@RheannaRaye:  We’re still working out the details, but thanks for the offer! I will definitely get back to you if I need them!

Very cute! I love it when the decor reflects the interests of the couple.

@RheannaRaye:  aw I love it! FI and I met and started dating in HS too, and went to college together (he went somewhere else freshman year and then transferred to be with me). But he did computer science and I did history….soooo totally different! He loves to read too though 🙂

Library card Save the Dates.

I’m doing book centerpieces like yours.  We’re naming the tables after literary couples.  My fiance wants to name a table “Ahab and Moby Dick”, but I’m trying really hard to veto that one. 🙂

I’m planning to rip up an old mass-market paperback and make flowers for all the bouquets and centerpieces.

Maybe a bookmark favor.  Don’t know yet.

Also, I love One Day. 🙂

@RheannaRaye:  I’m not having a book theme, I just wanted to say how lovely everything is. I’m totally loving your cake topper…I’m having a travel theme and I’d love a cake topper like yours.

@RheannaRaye:  Ooh, I love your blue books in the centrepiece and the way they match your flowers, really nice attention to detail there! What are your other table names?

We’re having an autumnal literary vintage theme (of sorts, but don’t say that around FH because he’ll grumble). I’m looking to get my hands on some brown/red/orange bound hardback books for centrepieces – I’m gonna start trawling ebay for lots after Christmas!

Also, I’m hoping to make my own leaf-shaped confetti, but I’ve discovered confetti on notonthehighstreet.com that is made from Pride and Prejudice (I couldn’t shred a book myself, but if it’s already done, I can pretend it wasn’t a book to begin with…) that I’d like to mix in with the stuff I plan to make – it’s only £2.50 a bag!

Our table names are going to be after books we love as well, and FH mocked up a table plan that I really liked, where he had next to each table a quote about love or marriage from the book it was named after!

That looks great! FI and I are having a book theme as well, and will be naming each table after a book. So at the escort card table we will have a copy of each book the tables are named after, with the escort cards (personalised bookmarks) sticking out of the books they’re assigned to.
