So bees, after my last post (which got a lot of great replies), I’ve decided to come to y’all for more help.
I’m thinking of idea for the wedding, and I think I found aa great idea for place cards. Since our theme is “books” I’ve decided to get some old books take the pages out and make some origami lilies. These will hold the name cards. The only problem I’m finding is the color. Beige/tan is not a color I was looking to put in the wedding. Ha.
So bees, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for how to paint them without causing them to cumble afterwards. The only thing I can think of is watercolor, but that isn’t colorful enough…I mean, they kind of just blend in. Any idea ladies?

Could you just keep them the original color and then use your wedding colors on the name cards? I don’t think people will even notice that it’s not your wedding colors.

Thats what I was thinking, but I don’t really like them that plain. :/
My colors are navy blue and silver, and I think the beige might throw it off. It’s not just the placecards I want to use origami for…

Instead of using actual pages from books… what about scrapbook paper that is navy or silver with writing on it? Something like this?

If you want to get crafty and take the time, you can dye the pages using fabric dye.

Both are great ideas! Thanks Ladies!
